You are Jack Conway, a former Detective Inspector and veteran of the Great War, now working as a Private Investigator.
Jack was born in 1880, an only child. He grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where he underwent a violent and disruptive upbringing due to the excessive alcohol and gambling habits of his father, his mother died during childbirth.
As a direct result of his abusive childhood and traumatic experiences during the war; not long after he was posted home, Jack developed an acute parasomnia condition, somnambulism (sleep walking) often accompanied by vicious night terrors.
Date: September 6, 1921
You are currently assigned to nearby Providence, Rhode Island assisting the local police with a recent problematic case; a string of unexplained disappearances, most of whom are young women.
On day three, with no real leads and the investigation seemingly going nowhere, you are contacted by a mysterious Dr. Albert Landström; apparently a local resident and physician, whom seems to have intimate knowledge of the case.
That was the last thing you remember, as you suddenly awaken in the cellar of a strange house, your whereabouts unknown. Can you piece together this puzzle and escape unscathed?
Are these events even real...
...Or some kind of sick nightmare?
I can't believe a year has gone by since the release of the Parasomnia demo and I've been overwhelmed with the response and how it has been received by everyone.
So this will be a brief update on how things are going, the first level (the house from the demo) has been tweaked and improved. I've fixed the glitch which caused objects to fall through the floor and the frame rate should be a bit smoother too.
I've added more speech to the game, for example; if you pick up a chair or touch a picture, Jack will say something appropriate to that object.
I've edited the light casting objects in the game to provide real time shadows, so for example; if you throw something at a ceiling light, the shadows will be realistically rendered as the light moves when the object sways.
All in all, I have four nicely detailed levels. The first two are finished and the latter two need a bit more work. I've been working really hard on this on and off for the last year, it takes a long time to reach the kind of quality bar I'm looking for, especially when you're a one man team and have real life time constraints; so apologies for the length of time this is taking.
I'm still not sure when the full game will be ready, sometime after AAMFP I would imagine and I may release it in two parts.
Finally, thanks to everyone who played the demo and left feedback or rated it.

I understand this is a demo, but it needs a lot more work in its basics. Strip away the sound files from Call of Cthulhu and it's just another mansion mod. Most impotantly though, it's really buggy. I get lag everywhere, chairs and boxes have wonky interactivity and often disappear through the floor. After finding everything and heading towards the padlock in the cellar, a glitchy door would cover half of the doorway (the one directly below the stairs) leading towards the ladder. I could't open it and couldn't pass. I couldn't even die by jumping repeatedly from the stairs, so with no save function I just quit at that point. If the mod is this buggy it really needs a save funtion so that game-breaking glitches like this doesn't force you to start over from the beginning.
Rest in peace, Parasomnia.
how do you make a custom story??
why is there no save option?
It's only a demo, so I decided to not include the option. However, the full release will allow for saving.
