Jailbreak is fought between two teams as are most First Person Shooters. But the real difference is what happens. Okay, take for instance you have Jim and Bob playing. Bob kills Jim, and Jim gets put in jail. That is simply the idea of Jailbreak.
The object of the game is to have all the enemy team inside of jail at the same time. When that happens your team receives a point. Sounds good, right?
Well, the enemy team is trying the exact same thing. If you get killed, you go into prison. How do you get out? Well, there is actually 4 ways.
1.) Teammate (who is not in jail) hits the prison release button.
2.) You wait the allotted time in jail and are freed.
3.) Your teamates who are also in jail work together to break out.
4.) Your executed, and a new round starts.
Well, the fourth one does get you out, but its not exactly recommended that you go that path, because the other team wins the round.
Now, how do you work with teammates to escape from jail? well, every jail has its flaw and it seems these flaws are the ventilation shafts. All you need is a boost from a team mate, and after a little bit of crawling, your home free. But the only weapon you have is a crowbar. So what do you do first? Get weapons or press the prison escape button to release the rest of your team?

With over two months of what looked like inactivity, Jailbreak is about to make a final debut on to the HL mod scene with OSJB Final(version 1). The new version is a complete make-over from the old jailbreak versions, everything has had graphical re-vamps. The most important part of this release is that everything is coded from scratch, brand new. What does this mean for you, a Jailbreak player? First of all, as mentioned before, we re-coded everything, so we now have the chance to incorporate some new snazzy features, such as VGUI menues, environmental effects, stamina system, client sided radar(no more .rdr files),game rules update, and most importantly, a complete weapon overhaul(no more HL weapons). As well, with the new version, we are adding a couple new official maps, and updating old(er) ones. Within the next few days, we will release screenshots and perhaps a special treat(movie?). Hi people!
I've gotten tired of not being able to reliably find games for old Gold Source (GoldSrc, HL1, Half Life 1) mods or Source (Half Life 2, HL2) mods including Jailbreak, so I made a discord about just that. I am also trying to make this place an informational hub. I'm trying to centralize and unite the multiplayer mod communities for all of the various multiplayer mods out there. We play a mod of the week every Friday/Saturday.

I remember this game waaay back. It was a timeless classic. But, the last patch ruined the mod and cause everyone to leave it to wither and die. All I can remember was that it was glitchy, lots of crashes and many people couldn't play it without it being laggy and too many things have been changed or screwed around with. It wasn't the jailbreak we all knew and loved.
The thing I remember most about this mod was the knock-off song that was in one of the maps, it was a parody of Chumbawumba's "I Get Knocked Down." Had to do with bombing Saddam.
I guess it was map-specific, anyway. Could've been server content.

What's with the mod being banned? Hehe, good thing I downloaded in a different site. It's a nice mod. I and my friends play it all the time.
Is Jailbreak: Source the Source engine version of this mod, 'cause they're similar mods, only that JB:S is Source and has different environments and weapons?
