Massive Unit Dump is a mod project to expand the amount of units and customization possibilities in the game Darkest Hour.

I was influenced by various videogames, and ofcourse the big brother HoI3. Many other mods were influencial to add tons of different units and attachments to customize divisions (notably BICE for HoI3). However the very basis for this mod is Kretoxian's great TTEP and CWTTE mods. On the units themselves, I have not tried to make customizable divisions like in HoI3, that would be way too hard in DH's engine at least for now, but tried to add as much units or attachments sensibly possible to the game. Showcasing sidelined concepts and undermined real systems, for both gameplay and historical realism value but hopefully balance. Also this may serve as template for other mods, such as those more dedicated for a certain period.

Due to modding limitations (100 free types of units and attachments not counting vanilla) there will be restraints and design choices, based on the following logic:

Timeline: A full 100 years timeline of warfare, from 1890 up to 1990, and alt-history possibilities.
Plausibility: Only comparatively feasible warfare concepts, P.1500 Landkreuzer would be the big max.
Scale: Representation of units at sizes available as military building blocks, during every generations.

Sister mod - Anomia

News

You may have noticed our sister mod, the scifi post-apocalyptic, Anomia, has had its first Beta release. A second Beta release with further fixes and addons will be shortly released (hint: check in the near week ends). Like mentioned in previous Dev Logs, that mod will be used as a testbed for custom unit stats and to test diverse modern types of units. Those units will appear very soon, fully functional, in: Moddb.com

But more about THIS mod! As promised during the poll to decide the future path of the MUD mod, a final preview version of MUD will be released near the end of April. Then a full release, which will include custom stats for many new units, would quickly follow the final preview version.

I hope this satisfies everyone! See you next time!

Do not let this mod die, if it goes - maybe it can be the best military mod for HoI.

The game visually is very dated, Hearts of Iron 2 (which Darkest Hour is based on) was released in 2005! But still it keeps a tabletop-like game charm.

I am thinking of doing some graphics edits for the look of the game too..
