"Ming Dynasty Pirate Crisis - Total War" is a Chinese mod based on the Medieval 2 Total War engine. It is based on the historical background of the Ming Dynasty's anti-wokou wars created by the Mingfeng Production Team. Wokou which literally translates to "Japanese pirates" or "dwarf pirates", were pirates who raided the coastlines of China and Korea from the 13th century to the 16th century. The game setting takes place at the peak of Wokou activities during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty in the mid-1500s.
