The goal of this mod is to give the player the possibility to build up a trade empire, with buildable manufactures in the city's, buyable land in the villages, your own caravans and so on. Cause you need consumers, a population system has been implemented, with 3 classes of people (Worker, Merchant and Rich), with different demands. Every city and village produces it's own goods, based on location and culture. The political system has been changed, npcs now have a character that influences theyr behavior. They try to kill each other not only on battlefields. There are also changes to the campaign and battlefield AI, completly new troops, hundreds of new items, scenes and much more.

What i would like to see in the mod is a much easier way to recruit companions because with the much larger skill tree and the huge amount of companions available is hard to know whether they are a good choice or a waste of space and money, this is my idea: A title system that can make you know what type of companion you're recruiting, for example, companions with a lot of training skill can be called Commanders, or Captains, and depending on the type of training they have they could be called Knight, Swordsman, Bowmaster and so. Here's a more specific example:

Swordsman Commander (Name of the companion): Some points in the training skill, a lot of points for the one handed weapons proficiency and several points in the smithing skill.

You should also try to make the companions' level the same as the main character so they don't die so easy in battles.

I hope you consider my idea, thank you for the awesome mod!

Hi,

some companions from the More Companions Mod, had such names. I had them removed cause i didn't like them, when they get promototed to a lord or when i scroll trough my unit list. I wanna give them a role and not just take them as they are :-/ Thats also the reason why i added a lot of low level companions, so i am able to create my own custom army. There is an option to import an export npc's, so you can take them from one game to the other and upgrade them over time :-/

I'm thinking about giving the companions the ability to upgrade theyr weapon proficiency during a fight, so they will not only gain xp but weapon points in a fight too. So sparring them would be an option to improve them also.

Mmm that's understandable, but at least you could give the companions the same level (Or a close level) as the main character but without all the attribute, skill and proficiency points assigned, that way they won't be so weak in battles and at the same time i could improve them the way i want, for example: I reach level 15 without getting any companions, when i recruit one of them his/her level will be the same i have or at least a close one, but without the points assignation so i can make him/her an archer/trainer/knight or anything i want, i think the mod Sword of Damocles: Warlords has that very exact system, if you play it you'll get the idea of what i'm saying.

By the way, it would be nice if you add the freelancer mode to make the beginning a little easier

What do you think about the idea, to give the player the ability to "train" his npc companions in one of the training grounds for money? He would be gone for a week, and come back with a higher lvl. A new way to spend money and trader chars could build up theyr "bodyguards" without running from fight to fight.

That would be a good but complicated idea because spending a whole week to train your companions would be difficult because of the moral impact it will have on your army, have you played the DLC Viking Conquest? When you enter in a monastery you have the option to "learn how to read" (Only if your character had a poor education while creating the background sotry) when you select that option you need to spend a whole week to learn, that means you're not able to do anything for a week, your food will be quickly consumed (And considering the food consumption is high in this mod that's a really huge problem), your companions get mad because of it, some of your soldiers will abandon the army for low moral, etc. You should make that system only if you have a good idea to avoid these problems.

By the way, i don't know if you've thought about the idea of making a system that makes you play as one of your companions after you get knocked out in battles, i've played a lot of mods and i've never seen anything like it so it would be a great idea to do so.

Not the whole party should wait, the companion will be gone from the party, like if you send them to get more right to rule.

I giess i read in a mod description somethink described like your idea about after death companion control, will look into it.

Mmm ok, now i get the idea, there's another feature that would make the game more balanced for the player, it's making the leadership skill a party skill so the companions can help you create a bigger army, it's really difficult to play when the enemy lords have like 100 soldiers more than you, with 120 available companions it would make the game much more enjoyable, what do you think? I think villages, castles and towns are not enough for the player considering the lords usually have like 200 soldiers, specially because castles and towns are really difficult to capture.

Aug 30 2015 Anchor

Well, the enemy lords may have bigger armys, but player armys tend to have more elite troops.

I'm going to redo some of the troop upgrade mechanics for players and npcs the next time (cause of the new tax system), when this is done i will need to take a look at army sizes and balancing on worldmap :-)

Aug 30 2015 Anchor

Yes but it's hard to create an elite army because at the beginning soldiers are really weak, even when i encounter bandits the die really easy, the only way to upgrade the army without fighting would with the train skill but you need good level companions for this, and there goes the companions' level problem again, but it's your mod, do whatever you want to do to make the game better :D
