I think either flameguy (heat generated from intense laser beams sets people on fire) or standard infantry sequence deaths (severe cut etc. wounds sustained from the laser shots) would probably work the best for both of them. Flameguy all the way though, if you're going to keep the explosion impact animations. Electrocution seems just weird choice for a laser-based weapon, but rule of cool can apply when necessary. Just my two cents.

I agree. Flameguy. 100% flameguy.

I think the flameguy death sequence fits the situation better.

By the way, the crocodile in the picture reminds me of a question. Will animals and vehicles in Mental Omega 3 have new death animations?

There might be new infantry death anims, but animals and vehicles? I don't think so.

Will lasers still be player-color?

As for the question, Flameguy would make much more sense.

But maybe one that burst into flames then turned straight to ash instead of running around would be cool. ^^

No, prisms won't be player-color anymore. Lasers never were.

Description

An attempt at making prism and laser beams slightly different. One of the problems was that a red player would have lasers and prisms in the same color, which IMO looked odd.

Now, prism beams are no longer in the player's color but slightly change colors while being fired (which may not be as visible on this picture). There will also be distinct firing anims and probably infantry death anims for both.

Now, should prism beam cause flameguy or electroguy death anim? Or maybe a new one?
