Men of War is probably the best ww2 strategy game on the market, but it lacks most of all one thing: a skirmish mode where you can have huge battles against an AI player. It is a shame that you have so many units available that you can rarely use in the campaigns. Battlefield mode is a unique skirmish mode, more advanced than those you can find in Assault Squad, whose objectives are the following: • Create a challenging single player skirmish with a great variety of battles. • Build a sandbox to allow inexperienced players to set up their own scenario quickly given a prebuilt map.

The following video shows a gameplay demo of the new upcoming faction: the Axis Foreign Army. In this video I am playing using the Luftwaffe support command against Soviet Union. Among several things, you can see in action the new JU-88 bomber and the JU-87 versions armed with 37mm HE and APCR cannons. You can also access the video in the section of the mod page in this website.

CHANGES FROM THE CONCEPT:

  • The Airborne assault does not start with a strafing run, but drops 8 Fallschirmjägers and infantry close to them will be automatically targeted by a BF-109.
  • Osttruppen soldiers are different from regular infantry, but their weapon skill is 1.
  • Sturmpioneers can build both FlaK 41 emplacements and FlaK 38 emplacements.
  • Gebirgsjäger squad has the new AT launcher Raketenwerfer 43 instead of LG-40.
