MAX PAYNE 2 THE FALL OF MAX PAYNE - OLDSCHOOL MOD
VERSION 1.0
SUMMARY
The first full version of the Old School Mod for Max Payne 2, released
on the 18th birthday of the original Max Payne game.
This modification succeeds in bringing the original atmosphere from
the first game to Max Payne 2's story and environment. The gameplay
is a balance between the two game's fun and challenging elements.
We cannot thank enough the people who made the base work for this mod in
different beta versions over the years, the latest known version being
Valkyr Rage Beta by Mercenaries Company.

KEY FEATURES
- Sam Lake and others are back for both in-game and graphic novel scenes.
- Most audiovisual effects and skins now resemble the ones from
the first game.
- The menus and loadings screens for both new and old levels have
unique art.
HOW TO PLAY
1. The Unofficial Weapon Patch for Max Payne 2 must have been installed
(the installer & instructions included in the package).
2. Insert the MaxPayneOldSchoolMod.mp2m mod file to your Max Payne 2
directory and "Previously-mp1.bik" to "movies" folder in the same
directory,
3. Select MaxPayneOldSchoolMod on the Choose customized game dropbox
in the game's launcher and press "Play".

GAMEPLAY
-Readjusted Health, Weapon Handling and Slow-Motion in the Story and
Bonus chapters to balance between fun and challenging gameplay.
-DMW levels are more Arcade: Choose between characters with unique
loadouts.

Bonus: Back to Aesir Chapters 1-3 and two Roscoe Street Station beta
levels.
DMW: Ragnarock Entrance & Showdown + Subway
TIPS & TECHNICAL INFO
- If you use number keys to select weapons, you will need to remap
the keys (1-6) whenever you play this mod or go back to normal game /
other mods. Do this in the game's Options -> Controls -> Combat
screen, or simply "Reset to Defaults". Mouse Wheel is not affected by
the weapon slot changes.
- Back to Aesir levels may need "High" graphic settings to run.
- To gain more advantage in firefights: Turn off "Bullet Time Assist"
in "Options -> Game" and continue using BT while and after landing
the shootdodge to land even more shots before enemies do.
- Bonus Weapons available for some DMW characters can be acquired in
any level by console codes, but are not collected in normal MP2 Story
missions. Type GetSawedShotgunDual, GetMP5Dual or GetDesertEagleDual
in console, or have every weapon available by "GetAllWeapons" or
"Coder" commands.

GPChannelOffical™ This is an amazing mod, though there is one things that's missing. The facial changes when characters shoot, which is what Max Payne has. LOL. XD

Will you add killer suits for Woden agents? And nightvison commando replaced by merc with backpack?
Suggestions:
1. Make the cleaners use the MP1 mercenaries pain and death sounds.
2. NYPD officers in MP1 style.
I have tried the cleaner make Merc death and pain sounds, but sometimes the game is crash
1. If I recall correctly we chose to not replace Cleaner sounds because it would add too much repetition with MP1 sounds.
2. There were no casual police officers in MP1 I think. Only models are the SWAT and the corrupt jacket cops who you fight in BB level.
3. The most recent version of the Old School series is the Remix 1.01, this original one is a Piece of Art but it's not likely to be updated as far as I know.
There is one part where Max Payne's face is still the default Max Payne 2 face and that is in the chapter The Depths of My Brain on the Gold Touch Brandy billboard.
We actually talked about that briefly. If it only appears in the dream, then maybe it should be changed. It's like if Max was asked did he act in the ads or tv he would say "no" but everything appears to be mocking him because of distorted sense of reality maybe.
I have so far managed to:
-Create decent new snow effects (there are some 40-50 rain effects to be replaced in game which more or less fit the levels :P) which I will probably tweak later
-Import the baseball bat and M79 from MP1 and make them work (lead pipe and bat will be the secondaries) with some new HUD icons made with GP
-Replace some 50% of all outdoor level textures, which means the ground will be frozen or covered in snow in most cases, the bright colors are made more "cold" and some little skybox edits
I also have a Cold Steel DMW level which is 50% ready, nothing too complex but I had to leave level editor alone so we could push the 1.0 version of the mod out. Also been thinking about making another DMW level which would be one Aesir area, but that would be another 40 hour week of work, another one for the engine and the actual level environments. I only have (some) weekends for modding for now, but it's not too far fetched to release (Max Payne) 2.0 in fall or winter 2019.
What I think would be cool for the next version:
-Actual new snow effects (pic related)

No promises yet, but I can see all of these happening. I am open for suggestions.
