I am adding this as a separate mod, because some people may not be using the storyline changes, although you should be! :)

Install:
Move Gamedata folder into your main LA folder.
WILL WORK ON A CURRENT GAME, BUT NEW GAME REQUIRED IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE STORY CHANGES.
I ONLY EVER PLAY WITH VANILLA WEAPONS AND VERY MINIMAL MODS. THIS WAS MADE FOR VANILLA ONLY, SO KNOWLEDGE OF MERGING WILL BE NEEDED FOR CERTAIN FILES. FOR EXAMPLE: MY "ui_icon_equipment" in "textures\ui" WILL CONFLICT WITH ANY WEAPON MOD.

Overview of changes:
(SPOILER WARNING) Just as a FYI for people that are interested. A couple years back, I tried to tie the main story together better, because it was a little fragmented (and some of it can still be improved of course). I updated a large amount of text that started being released with 1.3 and up I think.
Maddog and the crystal artifact/repairing PC's PDA (more on that below) are the main elements of the first half of the story, as they contribute to finding out who the PC is. After finishing the PDA/crystal quest, that then moves you into the second half with the psi helmet to get through Radar, which leads to the NPP, etc...
Now that this will be the final update and the Illuminati story is cut, I wanted to release what was not included through some patch iterations. (SPOILER WARNING OVER)

-Storyline changes v.1.03 mod from the launcher IS REQUIRED
-Fixed a couple string tags showing rather then actual words, for tasks in NPP and Gen warlab
-Fixed incorrect icon for the warlab C-Con rep (was using a military NPC icon, changed to "no data" icon)
-Fixed a few minor story elements later in the game.
-This may be the final update, unless a new storyline mod version is released. I think I got everything within the realms that I know how to fix at this point.

-Tons of story updates/changes to reflect the removed cut scenes/tasks (like no longer having to meet fang and run around more) in Storyline changes v1.02
-Critical fix for dialog with Guide. Before my fix you could only speak with him once, then he would not offer to go to prip underground if you did not go with him right away.
-Updated icon for the unique artifact "generator" and updated the description on what to do with it/how to capture it
-Updated Izlom arm to Izlom hand and now fits in a 1x1 grid like every other mutant part
-More small story fixes and misc updates

-Fixed that huge ass PDA icon that is associated with some quest PDA's and misc. when it is in your inventory
-I like the whistling and humming, but NPC's use it way to much and it was assigned to the Monolith as well. I dont think the Monolith would be whistling a happy tune :P I changed it so whistling and humming is part of the idles for bandits, freedom, newbies and stalkers only (forgot to add all idle sounds to gamedata folder, updated now)
-cleaned up some unused folders and copies of files that I had around for backup

-Updated story elements for "fixing" PC PDA. Now that the skills are available from the start, I felt that "fixing" your PDA as a whole was irrelevant, since all modules are available and working. Now there are mentions through the first half of the game that PC needs to "recover" some corrupted data. Sakharov dialogue changed so that he requires a couple items for a project of his own before he will recover the data and the crystal artifact is now the single object that helps to recover said data.
-Updated some smaller dialogue files as well for consistency
-Fixed/updated/added some NPC icons.
-Fixed wrong arm texture for unique Bandit Suit
-Updated a couple monster part icons in "ui_icon_equipment" (I did not create the couple new textures)
-Updated some monster sounds
-Included no mini map
-Included no flashing update icons that were under mini map
-Some other smaller tweaks I may be forgetting about as well
-Includes updated textures for weapons when using VANILLA option. I did not create them, I apologize I do not know all of the creators who I pulled from. I mixed and matched them through the years for ones I thought fit best. Credit goes to all the amazing texture artists who created the ones I have in this mod.

*If you dont like my changes or additions, the beauty of a mod is that you are free to delete or change whatever you want to or dont like. Complaints will be ignored, crashes related to this mod (which should not be any) suggestions/spelling errors, etc will be looked at though.

Thanks for the update! Great to see that LA is still being polished and improved.
Just a question: I always wonder, why repairing protagonist's PDA was so important task in every version, if it gives nothing valuable but some lore addition. I think when you take it from Sakharov, you should have there some extremly important clue how to reach Wish Granter or something similar, what would be "personal" reason to reach North, separate from being traders' lackey in their pursuit for wealth.
Also, one of the secret document still mention some important character (no spoiler) to be part of main intrique. It fit to older version of story, but now is seems to be out of place.
Ya dont know, that was already implemented when I came on board long ago. That is why now rather then "fixing" it (like it was physically broken) I just changed it to recover some data, best I could come up with to make it fit somewhat better imo.
When the skills were first in production, I suggested that the way Sakharov actually "fixes" your PDA is by opening up the skills tab, besides giving you the few background entries about your group. Thus Sakharov "fixed" the PDA fully and now you have the skills tab open. Didnt happen though as you can see :P
I see. Maybe recovering info about mysterious key to Zone secrets hid in some room far behind Barrier left by protagonist's team in his earlier life would be good enough reason to risk life and mental health... at least a bit better than being would-you-kindly-man who just execute orders imo.
FYI there is an update for the storyline mod ver 1.03. Took a look through the files and it doesnt appear to much was changed, so anything in my mods current version (2.1) should be OK.
Also for anyone wondering the newest all.spawn I have posted in the addons is now included in that storyline update. You can remove that in your game data folder if you want.
Does this mod fixes the Bandit Faction bug where we remain stuck in Bandit faction after the quest "Free the Dutyer from prison". The questline makes us join Bandit faction for sneaking into Monolith base and Bandit base in Dark Valley for X18.
It does not, I have never had that bug in any of my play throughs. I have seen some others that have encountered it, but no idea what causes it.

You're being trolled by webfaries. The current underswell when bitching about LADC revolves around getting stuck in the Bandit faction.
TBAH, the problem really does exist, and has since v1.30013; you can even 'take it to the end of the game'.
Some kind person at the wiki berated these webturds for polluting various talkthreads with this sort of nonsense, when the solution to a non-problem is fairly trivial - and can be exploited anyway...
But you can't help these netizens. They're hurt because their "immersion got broke" or "trading potential became worse" or "I cut my finger on a blade of grass and Petrenko won't talk to me no more" (or sumsutch)

run the game in developer mode and use console command:
run_string db.actor:set_character_community("actor", 0, 0)

I like what you did with this mod, as i using it with three others now. The updated swamp, free ai and storyline changes.
The one thing, why is there no sound when you taking items from stash to inventory? Is it possible add to?

Yes sir, compatible with ver. 1.02+ (and up, so 1.03 as well for now). Updated description to reflect 1.03 instead of how I had it written as above.
