I apologize for forgetting the file! It is now available and requires the original Insolence Mod.

There are problems.
1. No gameinfo.txt file, either in the original game or this update. I adapted one from another mod [though I really don't know much about what I'm doing], and got it to show up in my Steam games list. The game seems to launch OK, but...
2. When I hit New Game, there is no icon for a game to select in the popup, and so I can't launch a game normally.

I was able to get the game going by using the console to launch the first map, vert_start [at least that sounds like it might be the first map], and it does seem to be a fairly routine sort of way to start a game, but...
It's going to be unplayable; there are numerous missing textures and objects. This could be related to my improvised gameinfo.txt file, I suppose.

Needs work.

I apologize for the delay, I haven't used ModDB in a long time.

1. I am unsure of why there isn't a gameinfo.txt in the files, as when I last ran the mod, it used to work perfectly in Steam. It must have come from some change from the developer of Insolence.

2. This is likely due to some form of patch from the original developer, as mentioned earlier.

Original Insolence mod files:

Moddb.com

Had to put it in quotes to keep the editor from trimming it to just 'moddb.com'".

I had forgotten to mention. It requires the original Insolence mod at its most recent update. Also, it only adds minor content.

GoldSrc days? You mean the extremely small amount of time where the Src engine was the same as GoldSrc, which is just a forked version of Src. It wouldn't make any sense to use an engine branch which is only there so Valve didn't accidentally commit anything that could hinder the release of Half-Life 1.

Basically, yes. In 1999, it was running under the GoldSrc Engine. Also, I am not using the branch, it's just a background.

The Guest guy is right. In 1999 Half-Life 2 was using Source from very beginning, but very old version of it without Havok physics engine, modern Source engine graphics, shaders and such. Source was simply a raw copy of GoldSrc which was the one Valve could experiment with after Half-Life 1 release.
