Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
Something has been lurking around the outskirts of the solar system lately...
Disclaimer: No, the Covenant is not ingame, we have plans to bring some of them ingame soon. The models you see will not be in the mod. Hang in there.
I think i am in love!
But, but they look good ._.
Oh we'll have them ingame, these ships specifically, but with new models, even prettier than these.
Not Even as a placeholder ._.ยก?
I don't follow. I just said they'll be added, but with new models, instead of these placeholders.
he means if you have these now, why not throw them into the mod while you create the better ones.
personaly, im have to wait
*happy
i think your work is the best that i have ever seen
These are all from Ringleader's mod. Moddb.com
When you get to modeling the covie ships I want a count of how many times you're going to use the HyperNurbs tool in C4D, because I bet it will be used multiple times in every model :P
I don't use C4D or nurbs, so i can pretty much tell you now it'll be close to 0 (as in, it'll be 0.). Nurbs are pretty horrid for use in game engines, so i just stick to extrusion modelling as it's a pretty good method for getting nearly anything done.
When i do Covenant models i use splines to layout what's essentially a 3D orphographic sketch and use that as a guideline for extrusion of planes to make the mesh. I don't tend to use smooth tools because you can usually get more precise results manually - if you look at our old assault carrier model, every poly on that was done by hand, though obviously not as well as i could do it now.
If you or anyone else is really interested in my normal work flow, i might live stream me modelling bits of the Talos some time as a lazy man's tutorial, it'd let me test out live streaming before the live stream event.
Do it, please dear god do it, it would be a big help.
I seriously only just got the hang of splines :L sort of lol have had the program for like what 4 months. have started modeling a Forerunner Monitor and have absolutly no idea how to do the outer casing, I was thinking I should start with with a cube, since it's pretty much just a rounded cube with holes cut into it and chunks cut out. hmmm now that I've typed it out I might experiment with a bit of booling. Thanks for the help Velo :)
I'm not sure how i'd go about that my self really, but probably just plane extrusions to get the shell done and use a shell modifier, then do the internals seperately.
I can probably do it in the week before christmas, the 22nd or something.
Awesome thanks for the advice, and I look foreward to it :)
Lieutenant, arm the nuke and fire everything we've got!
I think I'm in love (O_O) WILL YOU MARRY ME CCS CLASS BATTLE CRUISER?!?
