Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
The new supercarrier/battleship concept is hugely modular, allowing the player to specialise their flagship into either a large assault carrier or a beefy battleship station. Now with double barreled MAC turret!
I blame the bad hand writing on my nature as an artist.
Yeah...
tsk tsk Velo yours is almost as bad as mine ;P
Love the design for the forward section, but why the conventional cruiser-esque engine layout? Wouldn't it make more sense to have something like the Spirit of Fire's engine layout for a ship this wide?
I didn't want the ship to be a generic "wide" ship - The shape goes from largely horizontal to more verticle towards the back to give it a more interesting shape.
If you don't want it to look too generic, you could always just do something different with the size of the rear section - have it taper or flare out a bit, for example. It just seems kind of strange to have vertically-oriented engines on a horizontally-oriented ship...
It's a long way off being implimented, so i probably will play around with the design some more until i'm happy enough to model it.
Though this is just a sketch, this is much better than the 'flying brick' that you guys passed off as a ship earlier.
so it can dock frigates? how big is this ship?
Somewhere around 2.5k and 3km. We're not entirely sure until it's modelled.
Nice and big, can't wait to see it when it's fully realised. :)
make it 3.5 km to make it a true super carrier something like the gantry but very smaller and please do the same with the covys
This would be my brain-child, bugged and bugged and bugged the boys for a 'Command Ship. =P
Go Aliah, good to see you sticking your foot in the door , maybe you can get us some other nice features as well ;P
You've got the Kindjal, and I'll be fighting for the Thanatos too, when it comes time to see it come to fruition!
Still trying to get the Phoenix-class.
Will there be a UNSC Supercarrier or will this beauty fill that role?
This is the supercarrier, basically.
I couldn't decide between a battleship (our old Astreus) and an interesting role for the supercarrier, so we basically combined them into one modular flagship. It's a supercarrier by default, and can be extended into a variety of roles to compliment your playstyle - a very hardy battleship, a mobile support platform, or a moving base.
Have you guys decided on a resource system yet? playing with out one is a little disheartening.
Good ship though, I wonder, if it is a modular design, then will it succeed in any of them? It is just a small concern though I like the vertical design, different from the standard UNSC ship type. Good work. ;)
We've decided on one, it's a very simple, watered down system of our old trade lanes idea. Basically we're just making the distance between you and resources pretty vast, and we're going to do some thorough tweaking of the income you get to make the first portion of the game all about carving up bits of the map for your self, securing asteroids and harrassing enemy ones, rather than being able to comfortably sustain your self on a single field the entire game.
