Modeled with reference, like all my stuff is :) What I mean is that the wings are correct...as per the design of the Halo3 Banshee. I don't think H1's are down as far and Reach...well Reach's Banshee is just...special...

Then these are, as I said earlier, gorgeous. But even more so now that I see them in-game.
I just wish I could make then higher-rez without killing framerate. I already had to set the far clipping planes for the games camera to over 9000 game units (so that it wouldn't cut the skybox out when you pull farther away) and it even makes my computer jitter sometimes when I pan the camera down.

Ok, now that is just awesome.
Well, it will probably kill smaller comps but the geometry of the skybox is just that...it's a box. lol. So as far as that goes, it's easier on the computer because the mesh is so simple. The main thing that I'd worry about FPS wise is the resetting of the clipping planes...but it shouldn't be too bad.
Out of curiosity...does the Halo look round, given that it's a skybox?
Yes, unless viewed at an extreme angle...which the game cameras can't pan to anyway.
So, are the Banshees going to fly around the place like the Rebel Assault Speeders (Even when not attacking?)? Or are they going to stay in place like Halo Wars?
They function exactly like the snowspeeder. This isn't Halo Wars or Starcraft and my air units do not 'hover'...unless they are meant to :) That was THE biggest thing in Halo Wars that ****** me off, or at least in the top 5. I hate games that integrate aircraft in that way...part of the reason why Dawn of War: Soulstorm sucked so much ***.
well, in reach (i read the manual before i played it becuase we had a 3 year old over at the time) the banshee model is a ground specific variant. theres both a ground and space model in reach.
so yes, the reach banshee IS special.
