v1.0 of the shaders had dark vehicle models in menus. It had something to do with the lighting model. Asobo's original lighting model was an expanded version of the "light * light direction + ambient occlusion light".. but doing three layers: sun, sky/shadow, ambient occlusion. After I figured out what they were doing and why they were doing it, I was able to sort it out better and get things to look as they should both in the game and in the menu screens.
