The fuel tanker is usually reflective chrome during the day. Because headlight lighting is done via deferred lighting, it's not added into any reflection calculations in the game engine. So, at night, the chrome would look very blue'ish, because it was only reflecting the night sky, not headlights. I tried mixing headlights into chrome'ing in vairous ways, but always ended up with that darn blue'ish glow. So, I just disabled chrome & clear-coats at night. But, to do so, I had to bend over backwards. I found a "night flag" that let me determine day and night. Originally, I used that to disable chrome'ing. But, then the "select vehicle" menu also had disabled chrome / clear-coats, even during the day. Apparently the select menu defaults to thinking it's night time. So, I had to use the headlights light value to determine day/ night instead. Headlights only work at night, so if they were on it was night. A very hackish way to do things, but I was able to disable chrome'ing at night while keeping it on in the menu screens. (sigh)
