Freecam 1.2.2
Full Version 5 commentsAdded a new option for custom delay times when the program gives or releases control of the camera
Works with all dlc and mods!
This is a program that allows for a greater amount of freedom controlling the camera, it gives you the ability to control camera orientation with your mouse just like modern total war games. Freecam allows for un-restricted camera movement around the battlefield, may that be far off the borders of the battle or way up into the sky!
You can change most features in the configuration file, such as sensetivity, mouse smoothing, controls, etc.
The default key for freecam is either mouse button 5 or mouse button 4, it is possible to change the bind it in the configuration file. You can also see all other binds in the configuration file as well and change them.
If you are going be playing campaign with it, then I recommend saving every now and then as to avoid loss of progress. It is rare though the program can cause the game to crash.
If the program is generally unstable or you find it lacking, I recommend you have a look at Foederatus(p8q) work here as an alternative as it might be more stable than this.

VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found
Fix: Make sure you have Microsoft visual c++ 64bit installed on your pc.
If that does not fix it, then try copying vcruntime140_1.dll from C:\Program Files\WindowsApps into the same folder as the FREECAM.exe, credit -nobodysfree4ever

The game must be turned on first for the program to work. Otherwise make sure you meet the requirements required by the program.
Camera goes to the wrong place when you double click units.
Set the camera style option ingame to "total war". There is currently a bug present when using RTS camera style.
Generally speaking, launching as Administrator should solve most issues, otherwise let me know and I will do my best in finding a solution.
The default controls, they can be rebinded.
END: Exit program
Insert : Pause freecam
Shift, alt, shift+alt : Faster, slower, very slow
MButton5 : Rotate Camera
W,A,S,D : Move camera horizontally
Q,E,R;F : Rotate Camera

Added a new option for custom delay times when the program gives or releases control of the camera
A minor fix for an issue with keybinding concerning rotate_up and down keys.
A rather small update that fixes some oversights in the code, aswell as adding custom UPS value for those who wish to run at a fps above or below 60.
Some minor changes and additional bindings. Control overrides are now optional in the config file. This version is for definitive edition. It does include...
DEFINITIVE EDITION ONLY. A slightly experimental and completely rewritten version of Freecam, with greatly improved stability and less CPU demanding...
This version is confirmed to work with both definitive and gold editions of the game! 0.11: Added support for CD version. There are now two executables...
Is there a keybind to zoom in, like 'N' for modern total wars
I couldn't come up with any ways control zooming when I made freecam sadly, so right now its not a feature I'm afraid.
How can i activate this mod for campaign map? Works for battle mode
I remember using this mod before a year back. I only just used it again today and it is pretty great, thank you
Hi! Currently I haven't been able to get it to work properly on the campaign map. You can see how it would look here Youtube.com
There are some instructions in the video description if you want to reproduce it
Thank you, much appreciated

It runs perfectly on the original game, but unfortunately it seems to fail on the mod. For example the EB 2, after opening the exe, a load sign will appear and then jump out directly
Every time I extract the mod, all but 3 files disappear. Any help is great.
My first guess would be that your anti-virus is probably removing them. Due to some technical aspects of freecam, most anti-virus software likely mistake it for malware.
It shouldn't be the case with windows defender as freecam has been submitted and confirmed as a false positive.
Are you using any other anti-virus?
May be a dumb question but how do I "Start" the mod?
Simply run the executable freecam.exe while medieval II is running in the background. Then when you tab back into medieval II the controls should be different.
The controls are only different while freecam is running in the background. So if you turn it off then the controls will return back to vanilla again.
