Post news Report RSS The Expanded Galaxy Project

I thought I would post an article here about the Expanded Galaxy Project.

Posted by on

The Expanded Galaxy Project is aimed at re-introducing the planets not in both games throughout the main storyline as well as to add an overall end-game expansion and free-roam element with the possibility of new questlines to be added in the future.

I have also been writing and preparing files for tutorials to help streamline the process of level creation for the KotOR series, hoping to spark a revolution of sorts for the Odyssey engine, allowing for Total Conversions both for Star Wars and other stories that people could use the engine for, including RPG's and Point & Clicks games, I think this could be a great resource for people looking to learn game development as well as anybody looking to modify either KotOR game in any way shape or form.

I am also looking for people to get involved with my project at some point, the project will require texture artists, 3D modellers, voice artists, writers, beta-testers and even fans of the story to pitch in and help make sure the story ties in well with the universe and doesn't shift any canonical material too much to fit it's development, I hope to tie stories in to all three games KotOR, TSL and SWTOR.

I have already planned a story that features a companion heavily used and featured in SWTOR, a character that is also one of the main antagonists in TSL.

There was also talk with another user of a K2 to K1 mobile port, but without official authorisation I would not work on such a project, I also do not want to work on too much at once, so will focus my efforts on the Expanded Galaxy Project for the moment, but it could be possible to write a tutorial to show people how to port K2 from the PC into K1 mobile as a Total Conversion mod, but this would require a lot of time to write as well as a fair amount of time to follow and use, it may also be difficult or impossible due to problems converting the maps as well as script mis-matches between the K1 & K2 engines, on top of the placeable object limit and any other limitations the first games engine imposes.
