As soon as I locate a decent Lancer model it'll replace the Vigil as the premier anti starfighter corvette for the Empire.

Why? the vigil is so nice, I mean, it could use a small buff to its anti fighter weapons but it’s works wonders against enemy corvets and enemy bombers/gunships

The Vigil is better at hunting corvettes than it is killing fighters. It does both well, but it performs better chasing something it can catch. I would imagine he intends to use the Lancer as a supplement to the Vigil, allowing the Vigil to really shine in it's intended role.

I think this is a really bad idea, not only changing a ship so much from its canon specs, but providing better, close-in anti-starfighter capability against the faction whose strategy is already dependant on microing starfighter squadrons...

I've just had to buff this thing 7 times (no really, 7 times) in a row while testing because it was so godaweful.

So far buffed stats are:
Double fire speed for all weapons,
Increase fire arcs,
forward cannon fires 10 projectiles per pulse instead of the already buffed 4 for its other weapons,
doubled turn speed,
increased speed from 3,5 to 4,5,
100 shield points transfered to hull so it doesn't die so fast to missiles,
Cost reduced from 800 to 600.

Trust me the rebels got nothing to worry about.

Yes it does. Just have to install it using the correct method which should be in the article section.

Sounds more to me like the ship doesn't belong in the role its been given, but I digress.

It is your mod after all, and I really don't wish to complain after so much hard work. However I must say I stopped following most updates after increasing liberties were taken with adding totally irrelevant old republic era ships and rebalances like this.

I like this change, the Tartan always did look a bit weird at its normal size and the Customs corvette always seemed pretty useless.

Huh i guess i never realized the tartan was that small. I do like the ship. Someone put a dazzle paint job on it and it looked great. Actually, isnt that the vong mod? That you help with?

Wait, pure vanilla model and texture without "remaster"?

Description

The Tartan is a 60 meter long gunship with the weapons of the CLC (customs corvette) and the maneuverability of a fighter. The Customs corvette is now a unbuildable garrison unit, and the Tartan has taken its place as the standard starfighter screener for the Empire. While it only has a fourth of the shields and armor that the CLC has, the Tartan is far smaller, and far more agile. It also has the ability to dogfight.

I decided to severely scale down the Tartan from its canon size of 250 meters to something more realistic looking, judging from the window in front, it seemed ideal as a gunship. Stat wise it is bridging the gap between fighter and corvette. It has 250 shield and 250 hull points while boosting the weaponary of the CLC. Vulnerable to missiles due to their target tracking ability, and 250 base hp is not enough to take more than a few missiles. In short, a pretty good starfighter screener, but vulnerable to heavier weapons.

P.S. The fact that this gunship can get up close in a dogfight will make it significantly more useful than the CLC, even though it technically has the same weapon loadout.

Model and texture by Lucasarts.
