This mod catapults Empire at War into 2077. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
Was recently discovered by community member Enpremi. All bump map blue channels need to be 100% white, with no details or other info. This greatly, greatly increases bump map fidelity. Here are some examples of updated bump maps with 100% white blue channels. They're very crisp.
15 years, and people are still discovering things about this game... frigging Alamo engine, can you work as intended for a change?
To think that for so long we've been doing it wrong. All those years. Even warb's models have the issue, and he's been making models for more than a decade now. Imagine how much better literally every art asset for this game could look by just applying the 10 second fix of re exporting the texture with the fix.
that's beautiful!
The difference is quite staggering!
Can we see a before and after image?
There are several on the discord server.
oh it's beautiful
This in addition to the new shaders? The game just keeps looking better. Really stands out on the Tide, especially.
From a tech standpoint I don't comprehend this. Is it some sort of natural bug to the Alamo engine ?
The blue channel is a misterious thing. Deleting the blue channel of the normal map in Unity and letting the engine recompute it saves performance ... :`D
the level of graphical fidelity the community keeps managing to fish out of this ancient game engine absolutely astounds me
Wow that's indeed a nice find! Congrats! :)
This is why this mod is gonna be no 1 when its 100% finished
I have a question about the sounds of turbo-lasers in the federation, etc. will not be like in the movie
