Can you please change the lighting so that you can see the ships fighting instead of only watching parts of them? They look great in screenshots but actual gameplay is aweful
Alright, I laughed quite a bit when the super laser missed. I mean, Christ, the ship is the size of a space station and is fairly slow, how the hell can you miss that?
The mod's looking great, looking forward to that next release J.
Again, it's nearly impossible to see the ships because there's barely any lighting. That is not an enjoyable experience.
Yes, it's more 'realistic' that way. But it's also far more difficult to even see the most basic things occur. It really is not a big deal to make the mod more bright, no one sane enough would complain.
So just **** everybody with poor vision, then? This isn't just an aesthetic preference, it's about accessibility. Not everybody can easily make out dark ships on a dark background like you apparently can.
Nice one, nomada joke #245, completely besides any point. These people have a valid concern, why not release a slightly adjusted version alongside the dark edgy one? And if that is too time consuming, just say so.
I really don't care what you do, I'm not going to compromise my vision because 5 very vocal fukbois think they know better. So either complain, find a different mod to play, but please stop asking that I change the lighting in my mod because you've got a problem with it, because that's simply not going to happen.
You said yourself that the lighting has caught flak since the creation of the mod, it's mentioned on almost every one of your updates on the mod page. When a large part of the very vocal fukbois playing your mod want to be able to see the models you make, I don't know why you would not only refuse to oblige their request but then be a total *** about it.
Because much like a ballpit filled with 5 year olds said fukbois not only don't know what "no" means but will keep screaming until I oblige them. And after being screamed at for so long I can tell you, I am not going to oblige them. It's very simple really. I make the mod the way I want to, and if they don't like it, there's plenty of other mods for them to play. That's not being an ***, that's the truth.
It's funny that you compare the majority of the people who play your mod to a ballpit of 5 year olds, and then claim that you aren't being an *** about this.
It doesn't compromise your "vision" to alter the lighting settings and release it as an addon. The reason you don't want to do this is because you're being stubborn and can't handle that people don't see this the same way you do.
It's immature and childish to literally reply "No" when somebody asks you to do something. You can at least give a reason, instead of saying "my audience is comprised of childish fuckboys and that's why I won't release this widely-requested feature to my mod that is loved by almost everybody who plays it".
You released this mod so that others could enjoy it as well. If you only wanted your vision of the mod to be presented, then why open it up to commission? Why release it at all, where you're subject to *actual feedback*?
I'm not the author, and none of us have no control over what you do with the mod, so the pleas of your audience are irrelevant - you've made that abundantly clear - but the way you're handling this is honestly laughable.
First all, if you can't even get your point across without lying, your point is ********.
The vast majority of the players think that the way I've set up the graphics is immersive and atmospheric, your handful of fukbois who seem to come back and complain every few weeks is a very small minority.
And you are fuckbois. You can't take no for an answer, you'll try to twist your heads into all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify demanding what you want to happen, and all you can do when someone tells you you're not going to get your candy is call them ignorant, stubborn, and continue to argue. All the while not at all considering that what you want is completely irrelevant to what the guy wants who actually makes it. Or that asking "Just release seperate completely different mod bro, no big deal" is ******* retarded.
"It's immature and childish to literally reply "No" when somebody asks you to do something." You don't even realize how retarded this is do you? Your entire attitude oozes idiocy yet it seems to just pass you by.
Most modders wouldn't even dignify this long list of stupidity with a response really. I'm usually willing to interact with the community, but this has gone on long enough. I'll now stop wasting time on you.
>your handful of fukbois who seem to come back and complain every few weeks is a very small minority
It doesn't seem that way to me, that's the entire reason I'm commenting. Like a month ago when I saw it requested it had something like +30 and your witty response had considerably less. Maybe only those who hated the lighting happened to see that post. I think the lighting is fine, but your reactions to people who didn't are what set me off on you. If it's the case that only a very small minority *actually* have a problem with it then fine.
>You can't take no for an answer... all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify demanding what you want to happen
This isn't some hot political issue. Mental gymnastics aren't required to request a feature in a mod, especially if different people of the "very small fuckboi minority" are requesting it on different posts.
>All you can do when someone tells you you're not going to get your candy is call them ignorant, stubborn, and continue to argue
This argument and the one of the guy who called you ignorant are totally different beasts. Stubbornness and ignorance aren't even comparable, so I'm going to disregard the guy who has negative karma who typed one sentence to call you ignorant and address my positive one calling you stubborn. Being stubborn and flatly refusing something because you don't want to do it, even though it is requested on many of the updates you post, *is stubborn*. That is quite literally the definition of stubborn, whatever your reason, however legitimate.
>Or that asking "Just release seperate (sic) completely different mod bro, no big deal" is ******* retarded
Oh so you've spent the vast majority of time tinkering with lighting then? The effort of creating models, features and particles was negligible compared to the momentous effort of changing the lighting?
>"It's immature and childish to literally reply "No" when somebody asks you to do something." You don't even realize how retarded this is do you?
Yeah saying that it's immature to refuse something would be retarded. That, however, isn't at all what I said. You literally replied the word "No". No explanation. The guy asked politely and complimented the visuals, but said that gameplay was hindered by it and he got quite a few upvotes (not even counting those who downvoted him and agreed with you, he probably has more than are displayed), but you only gave "No". And yes, that is pretty immature.
Oh, and:
>if you can't even get your point across without lying, your point is ********
I would say that it isn't really surprising that he's gotten annoyed at people who keep *demanding* that he change the lighting after he keeps saying no. If people don't like it, they can play something else. People forget that a mod is not a game. Games need to be tailored to fans so that they can make money. Mods are created by people who want their game to play a certain way, then they are just willing to share that experience with other people. They make it the way they want and that is that. If people keep telling them to change things over and over when they don't want to, that'll obviously lead to them getting very irritated. If those people don't like it, it's not like they're being forced to play it. Even better yet, they can learn to mod themselves and make the game play as they want it to!
Problem is people think they can demand mod authors to change their work at will, a Mod is the creator own version of a game, NOT the version demanded by the fanbase, you may like it or not but "Demanding" the same thing for months by a minority is annoying and tiresome, and i would be ****** too because it tbh, Jer has explained lots of times (probably a few hundred times) why he wants space being darker than other mods, and even then as you can see on the last screenshots the shadow shade is a bit lighter than on the Public version of the mod.
You don´t like the lighting, fine, but stop demanding things because Jer is not obliged to either listen the demands or doing them at all, and by Jer i can say ANY MODDER OR MOD TEAM, or better yet, learn how to mod the game to suit your very own taste, that way MAYBE people will understand the work done on a mod.
It's ok, you don't need to eat his *** every time he posts a long comment.
Ever thought about how people like posting comments, and how comments often contain opinions? He doesn't need to be so assblasted about it. He only replied because he gets absolutely autistic about differing opinions anyway.
So you say i eat his *** for adressing a issue that i happened to suffer quite a few times?, sorry for having something resembling common sense around here, from my point of view right now, the only one being assblasted is you so...is your problem not mine.
I actually agree with what people have been saying. What's the point in making these detailed models if the lighting makes it so that a lot of people can't see them it's not like they're asking you to change the whole mod, they are just asking for the lighting to be a bit better so they can see the sexy AF ships in their full glory. Although you are definitely not the most ignorant modder here, like Niko said Nomada has his name written on that title
I love how the last 6 images are using much a lighter shadow shade so you can see shadowed areas of ships like people have been whining for and they still say it's too dark.
Can you please change the lighting so that you can see the ships fighting instead of only watching parts of them? They look great in screenshots but actual gameplay is aweful
No.
Wow.
Alright, I laughed quite a bit when the super laser missed. I mean, Christ, the ship is the size of a space station and is fairly slow, how the hell can you miss that?
The mod's looking great, looking forward to that next release J.
Thanks, there's not much to do left before the next one.
How the **** do you miss that bad?
Kanan Jarrus: "You certainly SHOOT like a stormtrooper."
Rex: "It's this helmet! I can't see!"
That's ok, not everyone has to think it's an enjoyable experience. Only I have to think that.
So just **** everybody with poor vision, then? This isn't just an aesthetic preference, it's about accessibility. Not everybody can easily make out dark ships on a dark background like you apparently can.
That is what the gamma and brightness sliders in the graphics options are for.
you're one of the most ignorant mod authors i have ever seen...
You must be looking for Nomada_Firefox who made the "Best Mod Published Ever"
I feel like that is an actual qoute by him.
because it is
Nice one, nomada joke #245, completely besides any point. These people have a valid concern, why not release a slightly adjusted version alongside the dark edgy one? And if that is too time consuming, just say so.
Didn't he say that when he tried to insult YVAW and then proceeded to get his AFT handed to him on a platinum diamond encrested platter?
Redoing the lighting on all maps would take a lot of time. If people dont enjoy it they should delete the mod and play another one.
Do you seriously expect me to go in and change my graphics settings every time I switch between space and land? Because that's ridiculous.
I really don't care what you do, I'm not going to compromise my vision because 5 very vocal fukbois think they know better. So either complain, find a different mod to play, but please stop asking that I change the lighting in my mod because you've got a problem with it, because that's simply not going to happen.

Can't you release the changed lighting on the maps as a patch?
Wouldn't that make all the kids happy?
It's funny that you compare the majority of the people who play your mod to a ballpit of 5 year olds, and then claim that you aren't being an *** about this.

Personally, I LOVE THE LIGHTING. it makes the ships look ominous and realistic GREAT JOB! also: Tarkin doesn't miss ;)

This is not my opinion this was me sleep deprived and not in a proper state of mind ignore this

I just realized that. Sorry haven't slept yet and it's 2AM here in Nova Scotia. Last time I comment when I'm tired AF.
can you not use the death star on a steam version?
Death Star is not in the public version of the mod
1st thing: Really Tarkin? Really?
2nd thing: I massively approve of the song choice.
