It'd be interesting to see the Eclipse 2 but VERY little information exists on it other than a few drawings and the comic it came from. It needs to be fleshed out by the fans since Disney doesn't care about the books. I'd like to see an Eclipse mk2 but all that we do know is it had the same primary weapon as did that of the first- a mini-super laser. No other armament, no engine make information -hell little if anything at all exists on it.

If you check some technological data and the comic, you may see, that Exlipse I although built more for using the super laser, it is bulkier and possibly heavier armed. HOWEVER the super laser is coaxial, so the Eclipse has to point its stern towards its target, and this is were Eclipse II is superior. Eclipse I has much less engines than Eclipse II.(Yup super laser should be coaxial) Mark II doesnt seem to have gravity well generators either. But in my opinion by sight, it is much heavier armored than Mark I.

I think you mean bow, not stern; lol. That's the thing though I don't know if the Co-axial superlaser has to be pointed at its target needing the whole ship to center on its target, as the Eclipse Mk.1 has to to do that, the Eclipse Mk. 2 seems to have a square-shaped, cannon-well instead of a big blunt-nosed snout at its co-axial point like the first does. Also it seems to have a targeting bridge above its super laser as the first didn't. As for the Eclipse Mk 2 not seeming to show gravity well blisters on its surface, it is possible that the constructor decided to armor the ship far more extensively than the first or that the gravity-well projectors were removed to make room for a better hangar or even more weapon batteries. I feel overall Dark Empire 2 was rushed.

Uhh yea, bow. Actually there are many characteristics we could just guess. Like gravity well generators... Although their evolution points Mk II should have them, we ant see them. By the extra bridge, it ma also have better targeting systems, more advanced fire control sytems, so yeah we an guess its maybe more accurate as well... But weaponry and armor doesnt matter. These two always depend on modders sense for ballance...
