PSA: Incoming May the 4th Sale - Remake 4.0 STEAM ONLY image - Empire At War Remake: Galactic Civil War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
This mod catapults Empire at War into 2077. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
As has been stated many times the incoming Version 4.0 of Remake will be exclusive to Steam because we will be using features exclusive to the most recent game patch that the game devs Petroglyph only patched into the Steam version of the game.
Meaning anyone not on the Steam version of the game will NOT be able to play this mod's newer version going forward.
Saying that, the upcoming "May the 4th be with you" includes Origin and GOG versions of EAW and there will very likely be people who buy those versions. This is a PSA telling you NOT to do that. Nearly all major mods are Steam exclusive or are going that way with the most recent EAW patch.
TLDR: Buy steam version on sale for the next week if you want to play newest versions of mods.
