This mod catapults Empire at War into 2077. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
Armed with 10 quad turbolaser batteries, the Sullustian Dauntless cruiser is a powerfull broadside brawler with limited fire arcs but a lot of firepower and armor. It is equiped with a hangar in its front jaw. Neutrally buildable on Sullust.
Will the Rebels gain access to this ship generally"" from memory it was a pretty important class of ship in their rag-tag navy? Or is it restricted exclusively to Sullust?
I like what Aotr did with the Dauntless, making it available on all worlds with capital shipyards once you've captured Sullust.
That's a good idea, I'll ask maxim about that.
To be honest the Dauntless in AoTR is a piece of junk. You can buy 2 Liberator carrier/cruiser for the cost of 1 Daunty plus some extra fighters/bombers. Or a Mediator battleship.
I hope they give her a special role, like missile defense ship or something, because now she is pretty useless. :(
I don't find the Dauntless useless at all... in fact they're a mainstay in my fleets. I've found they can go toe to toe with an ISD quite well. Of course they need support to back them up, but beyond that I think they're an excellent ship.
Most rebel ships in AoTR are pretty useless for the price tbh. Only the carriers are useful, like you mention.
I donĀ“t know if the single engine is in the original design but I like it. I guess the ship will be rather slow?
You're really fleshing out the Rebel fleet, huh. I like it.
