Call of The Zone is a standalone modification for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Call of Pripyat that allows you to explore the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone – a desolate and highly contaminated region of Ukraine that has been abandoned and closed off for decades ever since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. What has been going on in this irradiated wasteland since then? There are no shortage of rumors and conspiracy theories, each more fantastic than the last. Rumors of mutated wildlife, brainwashed cults, secret experiments, and unexplainable paranormal events abound, as do promises of great riches and wildest dreams coming true for those who are daring or desperate enough to try to break through the cordon. You are about to find out for yourself what is true and what is yet undiscovered, and experience for yourself all the Zone has to offer... or to take from you.

If you experience distorted icons, it's because the texture detail is turned down too low.

Go under Options->Video->Advanced and bump up the "Texture detail" slider a bit until the icons display as normal.

On a very modded CoC 1.4.22 with addons+own stuff and edit in it, i noticed after using this excellent tool (that works great for the Stalker games) :

Nexusmods.com

to optimise dds textures size/mipmaps/compressions , if i used this tool on .dds textures used by the UI (or textures used by weapon scopes) to optimise and recreate their mipmaps, i would run into distorted results ingame (scopes would not be at the center anymore) and in the UI (icons were screwed up). It seemed even worse for the textures that by default weren't in dimensions using power of two

While it worked perfectly on world/building/npc textures.

Maybe the source of the problem is there, that texture detail may use some mipmap, while UI textures shouldn't have them ?

Sanctuary posted a great fix for this issue which I'll be incorporating into the next patch. In the meantime you can download his fix here:

Thanks for the fix!
