About the mission to disable the brain scorcher Thread - DoctorX Call of The Zone mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Just got a little problem with the mission to disable the brain scorcher. Not completely broken off course, but since I disabled the brain scorcher myself without undercover (Ie. without the quest), I thought that it would automatically validate the quest, but the guy still want me to take his injection and go as monolith despite that (I swear he just want to test his drug).

Also I did not try since I was far in the north, but since I can't active the mecanism again and the faction change happen at that moment, won't I be stuck as monolith if I do it ?

You can switch it on again. Normally that would defect you to the Monolith faction if you weren't on the task, but you should still be able to do the task, just switch it on and then right back off again.

Thanks for the heads up on that issue. I'll put a condition in the task to have it auto-complete if the Brain Scorcher was already turned off.

After some testing, it seems that you do not change faction (good indeed) but you still have to get naked near monolithe.

Also, if you're fast enough, you can directly talk again with the guy to validate the quest before blacking out, which I personally find hilarious, because he then still get you naked out in the wild.

I altready switched the brainscorcher on and off for three times! This task was given to me from three different, important persons - at last from Skinflint at Army Warehouse. All three times there was following to read in my PDA:

"Skinflint: Talk to me again when its done."
(I always disabled the brainscorcher without beeing delivered to the Monolith faction after taking the serum...)
"Mission complete: Defector."

Reporting back to the task giver (after shutting down the Brain Scorcher) and he will send me to a new contact:

"New mission: Meet with xyz."...(and every time the person I should meet will give me the task to disable the brainscorcher again)

In the Achievements section following is to read:
28 from 32 Achievements
"Duga free / disabling the Miracle Machine and the Brain Scorcher (so the task is fullfilled...)"

Thats for info. Anyway, it's no fun killer, but after three times in Radar, there is nothing else to loot at the Brain Scorcher - only some Mutants are waiting for me...
