Hi Sasha_The_Lynx I'm a big fan of your Mod I was wondering if can do this for Disciples 3:Reincarnation?
I dont even have the game so cant really make the mods for that game. Even if i did, its been nearly a decade soon since i even modded Disciples 3, so my memory on modding it is vauge at best.

Question to the author. You took a permit the company kalypso, to use material from the game?
The files that are provided are simply modified files from the game, nothing more. The units, heroes, everything that you see in the mods where from the game itself. Models and textures are already in the game, and the mods simply contains text files, or similar config files that simply tells the game to use certain unites.
To my knowlegde, modding is something that is done for fun, as long as us authers dont take payment for it, or cause something destructive.
But to answer your question better, no such material was used for my mods, so no such permit is needed.
It does baffles me that someone even take their time to find my mod section and make a comment about it, but its appriciated non the less.
I understood your position.
We create a mod by setting Disciples, and on the base Medieval 2: Total War.
We are going to import 3D models of Disciples 3. Even if calypso does not pay attention to it if go out Mod.DB - then there can be trouble.
Thats fair ofcorse. If we use, let us say, the inbuilt stock items to make a mod, then its all fine. My mods is such an example, it only uses stock stuff. Its when using assets from other games that things can get complicated.
Also a off-topic question, do you get notifications when i reply to you or something? I never get that and have to check that manualy (is there an option for that?)
Yes, they come to e-mail. Only I do not remember how to do it.
Ie in your case the use of the material is acceptable? Just because the mod in-game?
Yeah, like, let us say that there are enemy units in the game already, unplayable normaly. I just modify some cfg files to make them playable. That is 100% okay since its using the stock items.
Custom models and textures are also alright to use if one have the talent and time to make them. Now that depends on teh company, as some are more accepting than others. usualy, sending them an email and ask them is a good idea.
Ie if the mod is not commercial they can compromise even us?
Like i said, it depends on the company in question. CD Project, the creators of The Witcher games, are totaly cool with people using the assets tehy made, such as their musics as long as credit is given (As in telling woh made teh musics).
Some companies, such as Nintendo, are extremely paranoid with such use, even if you have the best intetnions and love for the company.
But i say this, if you have the means to contact the company, you sould do that and ask them for permission just to be safe.
I'm already waiting for a response from them.
But what about Calypso?
Yes, those are the ones i meant, if you got their email, like customer service or support, you could send them a ticket and ask them.
I dont know their stance are in modding and the extension. its been 5 or 6 years since i last modded Disciples 3 so i wouldnt know.
Thank you very much.)
I will post your mod on the Russian site, if you do not mind. (himself from there)
i actualy prefere that you dont upload my mods to any website. Even if they are old,, i rather have them in 1 place incase i need to maintain them.
I didnt say that you could, nor did you ask for it. Ofcorse, as LONG as you have the readme file intact, or redirect the mod to this website then im fine with it. Its been awhile yes since i modded this game, but i wont tolerate people taking my mods as if its theirs.
