If you deselect Confix during the CU Install your basically getting an updated version of the same thing with more language / render & editing support.
This is for all the deus ex purists out there. All it does is allow for proper UI scaling, fov slider, and higher resolutions.

The folder within the github that I am referring to is the original source of this package. So if anyone wants to go looking for the origin of it, they can, and perhaps discover other neat things.
RANT SECTION:
TLDR: The files were created by the creator of the community update, but were super obscure. Super mad and happy for finding the files and uploading them here.

So if you're like me, you've been dying to find a way to update deus ex the most minimal way possible.
Minimal to the point that all you want to fix is directx on modern systems, a high resolution changer in the menus, and an fov slider. At the most, game crashing bugs. Anything else will be a farce.
I did like the community update package, and how it allowed you to be vanilla, but it felt too bloated, and too many bugs were being fixed. I then set out to figure out how I could make it all come together in a way I liked it.
Kenties launcher and directx 10 was great, but buggy. The other launchers just did not feel right, and higher directx versions were also buggy. Plus, none of them had the option stuff in the menus, like in the community update, which is what I wanted.
But it was then, after countless hours of suffering/searching, that I had found the solution. And it was in none other than the community update package. The github version specifically.
No, I did not edit the files myself to make it work. The work was already done for me. You see, inside the github repo, and ONLY the github repo, there was a teeny-tiny folder called "Deus Ex Modernization Package" tucked away inside of the archive section.
And what do I find? This little 7z file that I have uploaded here. The 7z file that contains every single thing I've wanted, in a very wonderfully light weight package.
I am livid because it was practically hidden, and there was absolutely 0 mention of this anywhere. There are no forums, no discord, no README files, and especially not in the official package installer.
They just quietly released this golden package, and let it sit there for 4 YEARS... and did not think to alert anyone in any way. If they did say it SOMEWHERE, I wasn't able to find it, and ESPECIALLY anyone else who was looking for a solution. I found out about this about an 1 hour before uploading it here.
And I felt that I should upload it here because there was no way that just anyone would be able to find it. I feel incredibly lucky that I found it at all.
I hope that all the people who are looking for something like this are able to, and I hope I bring more awareness to this perfect minimal modern update package.
The only complaint I have is that I wish the fov slider went higher. But other than that, 100% great.
