STORY;

This mod continues the story where Half-Life 2 finished and offers one possible scenario. After the big explosion you fall to the ground and are very badly injured. Some people find you and take you home to a small village outside the city where the citadel was built. After 3 months you’re strong again and want to fight on. You have never seen Alyx or any of the others since the explosion. But you try to find new people that will fight with you against Breen. Nobody wants to help, some are afraid, others think that Breen has learned his lesson and won’t start again. It also seems that most of his organisation was lost in the explosion. Then you hear that along the coast Breen is starting again and trying to take control again. So you decide to go to the coast. There you take a little boat and go along the coast so the Combine won’t notice you coming.

FIX;

Extract this mod to you're SourceMod folder and click on the Coastline to Atmosphere folder, find the notepad called Gameinfo, inside and change the SteamAppld 220 to 215, save it and that it. You can play it without crashing.
This info does count for all HL2 excisting mods out there,
i know this is quit old info by now but i decided to add it here again anyway because there are still a lof of people that don't know this.
So, please do what is described above, it just takes one second to do so and it does fix everything!

Not sure if you remember but you asked me (the modder) if it were Medal of Honor sounds that you heard. And you were right! Very good of you to recognize those, but then again, it was and still is an awesome game. Not sure though if I would recognize them though, as player. As modder I do though, because I used them quite often in all my HL2 mappacks and mods. So, thanks for asking and playing, and recording. Was fun to see you play CtoA. Made it many, many years ago. So to see footage of it again was great joy to me. Thanks,

Hey, long fan here, I've played the first version when it came out years ago and I loved it!

However, I found multiple "Invisible textures" that allow me to see through the map, eg: on map "leonHL2-2d", the other side of the garage door has this issue on all releases:
-Original Coastline_to_Atmosphere;
-Coastline_to_Atmosphere + updated;
-Coastline_to_Atmosphere + updated + Source SDK 2013 patch;
-Also runthinkshootlive's version has this bug.

I cannot remember other places where this bug occurred on the top of my head.

These issues felt very jarring on my replay, it would be nice to have them fixed.

Tested setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 1700
RAM: 16Gb 3200Mhz
GPU: AMD rx5600xt Sapphire Pulse

PS: Thank you again for this mod and the awesome memories it left on my childhood!

Worst thing I've ever played. It's just stupid ******** like "Solve the cryptic ******** instantly or die", "fight several dozen combine in a tiny room", "fight over 100 headcrabs in a tiny room", "fight dozens of manhacks in a tiny room", "wander aimlessly for hours with no weapons & no HEV suit while being repeatedly shot to death by several hundred combine while there are no healing items in sight".

It's tons longer than the entirety of Half-Life 2 & it's so boring, tedious, & pretentious. There's a hallucination sequence that goes on for hours. At one point, you're intentionally tricked into thinking the hallucinations are over & then it just keeps going. The hallucinations might've been mildly interesting for a short time if you weren't being constantly killed by trial & error ******** while moving at a snail's pace with barely any control & no weapons or HEV suit.

Enemies constantly spawn in front of you or behind you, even in areas you've just cleared out, sometimes more than once. You can even occasionally see them spawn because they spawn out in the open several feet in front of you.

I spent the last 2 hours or so noclipping around in god mode because I was sick of having to figure out cryptic garbage at almost literally every turn & I ended up giving up because, after I solved all the puzzles, there was nowhere to go. It's so bad I made an account just to post this comment. Bulletwitch is better.

I'm surprised at the high ratings that this piece-of-crap worthless mod has received. Polygon count of the islands in the opening of "Coastline to Atmosphere, immediately off-the-bat, are pathetically low; the custom textures kind of suck.

I don't have 'God-like' FPS skills....but they are very, very good. Notwithstanding this fact, I was killed several times in the first 5 minutes that I played this mod -by either combine 'pigs' (cops) and/or annoying fish/eels in the lagoons that one must traverse across the islands in opening of this mod.

Hence, I am proud to say that I gave up on this crappy mod very soon afterwards; I had had way too much...

I rate "Coastline to Atmosphere" a 2/10.

I was not able to start the game (not even get into the opening menu screen), although I have installed all of the patches. However, I then took a closer look at the 'README_fix.txt' file and followed the instructions to get the game started.
For all other people having problems: Ensure that you have Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer installed and configured to use "upcoming" (the txt file says "incoming" instead of "upcoming").

Just two nitpicks:

When you start up the game and get to the main menu, the combine in the idle animation simply die for no reason whatsoever.

Secondly, the spoken language of NPCs doesn't change when you change your own language preferences in Steam. Other mods do, however.
Why is that/Is there a way to change this?

Other than that, kudos for this awesome mod, even more than 10 years after.

Not sure why these issues happen, they never did before. But, as you said yourself, it is a 10 years old mod and Valve did update Steam many times over the years.
I am looking in to release all my source mods again but then with the latest Source SDK 2013 SP, this will make the mods ready for the future,
