The Mod:

Celerity - This mod will be on the HL2 engine. It will take place in the half-life
universe. I'm not completely sure of what the story will be yet, but I want the game to be an action
game with puzzle elements. There will be a few different tools that will help you out with puzzles.

First Tool:

The primary mouse2 function will be the first tool. I havn't got a name for the tool yet, but
it will work like the Gravity Gun. You right click, and it picks up things off the ground. But instead
of holding it in the middle of the screen like the Gravity Gun normaly does, it holds it to the right,
so the object can be used as a sheild. While you can still left click to shoot your weapon which is
held in your left hand. Right click again while holding the object, and you shoot it. Or you can press
e to drop it.

Second Tool:The second tool will be the Generator. You can use this to generate certain objects that you've
seen before. When you first see the object you must take out the generator and right click while aiming
at it, then you will be notified that you have downloaded the Atomic code for it. And then later on you
can generate it again for later use. It will cost Generator Ammo to create things, depending on the
object. You will be able to generate things such as Explosives, Boxes, Ladders, Thrusters, and other
things to help you out in puzzles.

Third Tool:The third tool is going to be the Time Portal Creator (not the permanent name). How it works
is, You aim at the wall and create a round portal which looks similar to the game "portal". The portal
will sort of look like a mirror when you look through it, but instead it takes you 30 seconds into the
past. Say theres a switch you have to hold to open a door, but if you walk away the door closes. Well
hold it for a few seconds, then create the time portal and go back in time. Then you just walk through the door while your past self is holding it open. There are several other puzzle ideas I have for this tool that I think people will enjoy. Also, when you go back 30 seconds, the portal will still
stay there till the 30 seconds is up, letting you go back to the time that you created the portal. Some puzzles will make use of that as well.

Fourth Tool:

Another tool I want to use will be a Gravity Link Tool. There will be certain wall panels called
Gravity Platforms. They will have a certain texture so you know which they are. When you are standing
under it, just use the tool to activate the platform. AFter it is activated you will gravitate towards
that, and it will be your new floor. This will be used in several different ways for puzzles as well.
So, if you are in a room and you look directly above to see the ceiling is a gravity panel, you can
activate it to flip upside down and walk around on it. I already have some interesting puzzle designs
for this, but they would be too hard to explain without some visual. Maybe I will create a beta map
for a level and upload screenshots.

The Combat:This wont only be a puzzle game though. I want it to feel like a half-life game, but with more
puzzle elements. The combat will feel a lot like normal hl2 games, and the maps will look like normal
hl2 games as well.

The Melee weapon wont be the typical Crowbar, although it is awesome. It will be a big drill, that looks
similar to the drills that Big Daddies hold on BioShock. It will have a special function as well, when
you receive the drill, you will get a description of it. The description will say that it is used in
combat and is programmed to gravitate to surfaces that give off heat, like humans and other enemies.
So you can use it to gravitate toward flying enemies, or just to get to some combine quicker rather
than just running. I want to use it in some puzzles as well. I plan to draw a sketch of what I want
this to look like, and i will upload it when its done.

Another weapon i want to make is going to be called the Combat Generator. It will work like the normal
generator, just aim the generator at objects that you would think are good for combat, and dl the atomic
code. After that you cna go to the selection screen to change the designated object for it to generate
when using it in combat. You will slowly get better objects that will work better in combat, like a
Saw Blade, Barrel Explosives, and some other things. When you use it in battles, just bring it out
and it will already be holding the designated object, then you just aim it at enemies and shoot it like
normal. And of course this will be used in some puzzles as well.

These are the Ideas I have so far for the game, give me some feedback. Right now I am the only one
working on the mod, I barely know how to program, but I'm a pretty good level designer. I am going to
continue to learn to program and eventually make this mod. If you want to help me out with modeling or

hey its pretty awesome 5 people are members now. this mod probably wont be created for a while because i dont know much programming, but im going to school to learn how and hopefully it will be created eventually. im still working on it in the design aspect, thinking of new ideas and puzzles to use the tools listed.
