Call of Chernobyl is a free-play sandbox mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Call of Pripyat created by TeamEPIC. It features 32 explorable maps, reworked level design and level fixes, new original level, Trucks Cemetery, Full AI and A-Life overhaul, engine and script enhancements, Repeatable task system which bases itself on A-Life events, Customizable weather environments for every map as well as surges and psi-storms from AF3, Character creation which includes name, portrait and faction selection; Several optional modes such as Ironman mode, story mode and zombie survival mode, New achievements, rankings and reputation system, PDA leaderboard and enhanced PDA statistics, Companion system with keyboard issued commands, many optional side-features and community-made addons . "With Smurth’s Dynamic HUD no longer being updated by its author, a community effort will have to be made to keep the addon going for current versions of Call of Chernobyl." - So when CoC 1.5 will be released and original author won't updated his Hud (which is quite unlikely IMO, because of its popularity), you'll be willing to do it? I ask about that, because for me this addon is must have to play Stalker.

Does the C4 work with STCoP/Goulash? I know it worked for AO in the last version, but is it adaptable to other weapon mods?

I've definitely wanted a version of this that can be merged with 1.5r6 for quite a while now.

it might sound dumb, but how exactly do I make it work? I believe I've downloaded everything, and I've put the (assuming that's what I suppose to do) revo_lucas-call-of-chernobyl-8a7ec9d69114 files into gamedata. Should I just start it through the .exe in bin?

edit: nevermind, I'm dumb, I've figured it out.

Yep. You download all the files from both Bitbucket and Google Drive, and the only folders you actually need from the Bitbucket download are configs and scripts.

You might be missing some of the files from the Google Drive link. Downloading from that site is a bit buggy at times, as not all files always get packed.

I recommend double-checking that you have all files and that their file sizes match the ones on Drive.

I know how does it sound but i've tried using it in r6 and i got this strange error:

I looked over said script and i fail to see where it supposed to find said method... What am i missing? I'f i'm not mistaken, this feature is not native, it's from this mod, so i supposed something is wrong with installation?

As far as i can see, previously this function called wpn_effects.activate() and wpn_effects.deactivate() respectively, where from this change came from? I'm asking because i cannot find any classes/functions/scripts with said name, but since noone else is mentioning it then i guess it has something to do with R6->R7 transition? It's just i haven't found any changelogs for this version.

R7 has its own enhanced recoil feature, so I removed the one in Smurth’s Dynamic HUD. Considering that, I doubt enhanced recoil is compatible with R6.

Well, since all the nessesairy scripts and configs are in place from 1.4, then a simple activation of old mod-native methods are sufficent to get this recoil mechanics running on R6. (Just switched to old method from wpn_effects and it let me trough.)

However now i have one more error to fix:

Any ideas on that? I'm comparing those two configs from 1.4 and 1.5 R7 versions but it would be much easier if you could just point me to related changes you've made.

BTW, it's not that enhanced recoil from R7 version of your mod is incompatible, it's about solid blocker: whenever you apply changes to options screen it casts this method which throws an exeption and crashes, making this mod unusable with R6. But since it relies on relatively small change (named above) i'd like to ask you to include modified file for R6.

I haven’t changed anything in that folder besides removing ui_custom_msgs.xml. I also feel R7 is usable enough, so I don’t see the point in sticking with R6.

The point of sticking with R6 is that a lot of mods are not compatible with R7, e.g: Arsenal, STCoP, LTTZ, Warfare (haven't tested last two yet, but no positive reports so far) etc.

If those mods were kept up to date, I think an overall better experience could be available to players. r7 does seem a lot better than r6.

But they are not, and what players are supposed to do about that? Watch how 2 modding teams/creators cannot arrange simple patches? Stop playing for month or two until those issues are sorted out?

Anyway i found that XML issue, it came from that repo you listed in first comment: Said archive has nessesairy file with 1 extra line which solves the issue. (Which is strange btw, because i thought that files are replaced and not merged with the ones in database, and original file from this mod lacks said line which is required for any R6+ version.) So, atleast i hope that 2-line change made this version applicable for R6. I'll be posting in this thread since someone may come looking for solutions for any further problems.

Well, aside from crashing due to a couple of mutant files, r7 brings in a heap of balancing changes—to weapons, prices and whatnot—and I think it would benefit any players to give the vanilla features a try with the changes TeamEPIC have done. I myself am running just under a dozen addons, and I’m personally enjoying it. I encourage you to give it a try too.

Well i'll try it rather sooner than later (atleast to get some idea about the direction of balance changes), but i just don't feel like playing with only vanilla weapons right now: gunplay is everything for me.

I'd still like an r6 version if you have the time. I've put in several hours of merging and tweaking to get all the mods I like to work together and get a good game-balance. I plan to stick with this gamedata folder for a good while yet. The features I really care about are the helmet effects and medkit anims so I can't spam healing in the middle of a fight. So I'd be very happy to get just those.
