This mod adds the Boers as a playable civ in AOE 3.

-Added Pretoria as a homecity. Select it under Manage Homecities

-Unique culture (Transvaal). The buildings are made of sandstone bricks with red steel roofs.

-Only ranged gunpowder units as they did not use swords or bayonets.
-Units have extra upgrades to make up for the lack of heavy units.

The Boers are terrible in melee combat as they did not have melee weapons.
This can be seen during the Battle of Elandslaagte where a British cavalry charge mowed them down.

-Ossewa. Ox wagon. Used for transport and mobile fortifications (laager)

The Ossewa has high hitpoints, but no attack and can transport infantry. The Boers took cover in an
encampment of circled ox wagons during the Battle of Blood River.

-Tavern instead of Saloon. Tavern trains volunteers.
-Volunteers instead of mercenaries. Volunteers cost food instead of gold.

Volunteers were soldiers from other countries who fought for the Boers in the Second Boer War.
They were not paid. They only received food, a rifle and a horse upon arrival.

-Weak navy. Less and weaker ships.

The Boer Republics were not near the coast so they did not have ships. I had to give them ships in the game
as they will be at a great disadvantage on water. They have less ships, the ships are weaker and their ships
can't train units.

-Mint. Building that produces coin

Have you thought of adding the Boers to AOE3DE?
Great work.

Thanks for the comment. My computer cant run AOE3DE so I wont be able to mod it since a big part of modding is testing it in the game. Maybe one day :)

I read the history of this nation and was inspired by it! Thank you for creating such a mod, I didn't know much about this historical period in African history before.

Greetings! Will the mod add new units or only change the textures and flags of the old nations?

Hi. The mod adds new units and building textures. The files are on my profile under the 'files' tab. I'm not really sure how to upload mods to moddb. When I try to upload it using 'Add file' I get a warning about uploading duplicates.

That's cool, then I'll wait to test it out! Maybe you should try to change the name a little bit, and I also advise to use zip archive for the downloaded files. If all this does not help, you should definitely contact support.

Update: I was able to download the files from your profile, I think the error may be just from the fact that these files are loaded into the general files for the game, and therefore if you remove them, it will give them to upload to the page mod.

Thank you very much for the advice! The files will be up in about an hour.
