Cool! but wouldn't an expanding and subtracting collision box work better than building a new one?

It won't work as the collisionboxes in half-life are Axis Aligned Boundary Boxes (AABB) and these can't be rotated (hence the name).

So for any object that is wide like the Getsuga and being diagonal to the world axis, there will be a boundary box that is much larger than the object itself.

Scroll down to video gaming to see an example.

We cannot change the collision system, but we can fill an object with smaller collision boxes(AABB) to achieve a closer fit to the model regardless of its rotation.

Description

Here the two attacks have collide with each others. The lack of being able to do so earlier, was the main incitement for us to look into the collision system in half-life.

It still remain undecided whether they should be affected by explosions or not, and if charge or attack type matters in relation to the collision.

You will be able to see more about these collisions in an upcoming video.
