Description

one of the things I'm doing in my spare time is piecing together new maps that the original game never had. I've posted some work-in-progress pictures of Shanghai and Changsha... but I haven't ignored Europe! here are some views of a large and extremely detailed map of Leningrad based on a half-dozen different historical sources.

it's complicated enough where I'm not sure I would want this to be a required stepping-stone to get through in a new SP campaign! however, given that Leningrad got named the "900 day siege" I figured bigger might be better in this case. I'm still in the process of adding doodads and fleshing things out.

in the lower center shot there's an example of a new type of building I've added in the last month. (yes, those are just giant versions of the original Japanese bunker). since we don't have the ability to include the dozens of different types of fortresses I decided to go with a simple stand-in model. Belgium, France, and the Soviet Union will have these)

since I made this map on one of the new "Universal Biomes" all I have to do to make a winter version of this is to simply paste over the largely Boreal terrain with some Arctic terrain textures.
