I still find it more than a little funny that there is a Battle of Kursk after Axis victory at Stalingrad (in vanilla) and presumably the taking of Moscow (here). Regardless, this looks very impressive as usual.

I'm of the opinion that even IF Germany had won the battle of Moscow it would NOT have taken Russia out of the war. I believe that Stalin would have followed a path similar to Chiang Kai Shek in China: move the capital out of reach and keep fighting!

so, even in the vanilla game, Kursk is not entirely unreasonable in the campaign placement. (I think putting Moscow at the end was the weirdest decision, since historically, it was the FIRST to get attacked!)

you might argue that you could have put Kursk ahead of Stalingrad, as a way of securing the left flank of a German advance in the south... but, it's still several hundred miles away from either Moscow or Stalingrad.

there were so many narrative gaps and logical problems in the original SP imaginary campaign it kinda doesn't matter. I mean, Japan and Germany both storming Moscow?!? (that was one of the first things I changed, LOL)

Description

so, I finally got around to adding the original SP campaigns back into the mod. they're a little rough here and there, because mostly I've been trying to reduce the size of the mod and transform the WW2 experience.

originally I wanted to have it broken down into each nation getting it's own special campaign. but, honestly, I didn't have enough maps finished for any one nation to really justify that.

I wanted to upload a unique Polish campaign, but the maps just aren't ready yet.

I had 70% of a Franco-Thai war campaign finished... but, felt like it wasn't worth making people wait another month or two when I had promised to have it ready by the new year of 2021. so, I dumped the Thai missions in here. I also threw in a map where French Indochina has to contend with the Cochinchina Uprising in 1940. I then have Thailand launch their attack. there was a lot of dead space between 1939 and 1941... and, since the original game was really only interested in the war AFTER the United States got involved this isn't too surprising.

There were so many missions from so many different nations that I felt a new arrangement was in order. year, month, day, location. that way I can put everything more-or-less in a sensible order. the Moscow map now reflects the circumstances of 1941. a lot of late-war units have been removed. the mod operates under the idea that even if Moscow HAD fallen to the Germans that the Soviet Union would refuse to surrender. I also added in some new maps to make more sense of the Pacific Campaign. it didn't make sense to have Japan invade Australia if they never successfully captured New Guinea! It wouldn't make sense to invade India without first conquering Malaya and Burma! a lot of these maps still need a bit of work before I can say that I'm rightfully proud of them. but, I felt like I owed it to the people who have been waiting patiently to give them some content to try out.
