Description:
A GZDoom Total Conversion and 8 level mapset using a modified version of Kontra Kommando's Aliens: Trilolgy/Ultimate Doom mod.
Story:
The Aliens have risen again on planetoid LV426 at Weyland/Yutani corporation's best kept secret...A second colony! They still want the creature for research.
FEATURES:
1. (ERADICATION DEDICATED MAPSET) Four unique player classes with there own stories, enemy encounters, item placement, side/bonus missions, and even some maps exclusive to the class you have chosen to play.
2. Weapons and enemies from the Aliens Trilogy PS1 game, the Aliens films and more.
3. Play the single player, 8 map campaign (ERADICATION DEDICATED MAPSET) or load up the mod with your favorite iwad or pwad to give them the "Alien treatment".
Works with most Doom and Doom2 wads (not tested with other mods).
4. Deploy auto turrets and drones (class specific) to set traps or create defensive choke points.
5. Take advantage of environmental hazards (fire and electricity) to help even the odds.

HOW TO PLAY:
-Unzip the folder and run both files (pk3 and wad) with the pk3 first and the wad second.
-THE PK3 FILE ACTS AS A TOTAL CONVERSION FOR OTHER DOOM WADS.
-The ERADICATION wad must be played with the included pk3 file and the DOOM2 iwad.
MANY WAYS TO PLAY:
All difficulty settings are implemented as well as each class presenting it's own unique difficulty.
The easiest setting ("A FEW ALIENS") is more about tension, atmosphere and one on one encounters. The hardest ("HORDES OF ALIENS")
puts you in a near impossible setting. "GAME OVER, MAN" is the Nightmare setting (not recommended:).

not bad works much better. but he messages are still the same issue. but the games works faster an better. more smooth

ITS seems TO work better now the scaling of the messages. i guess if you have interface at 5 it show them not smash together.
so it's a matter of scaling the interface an everything. interesting.so i fixed the issue now.
Damn, I should have realized that was the problem. The scaling options in GZDoom. Glad you figured it out.
yeah ii realzie it. that playing on 4:3 one of the other options was bad along with playing a certain scaling interface was bad too. so yeah for anyone else they have to follow this incase they run into this problem. the only other issue now is missing script textures from looking at are weapons.
oh. i don't know if its just my mouse or what. but some reason the the assault rifle won't shoot the grenades properly. i have the secondary weapon where it launches the grenades. but each time. it won't budge or its hoot the rifle instead. but the grenades just won't launch.

Just a little problem to report:
I found that when I'm using Synthetic to arm smart-gun, the crosshair in auto-aim mode is very dimmed. I think it is better if it can turn to more brighter.

how do you restart the map with the aliens tc mod?
it also seems there's no way to open passages in episode 5? do i need to use grenades or something to open them?
cause episode 5 i can barely make progress. at the beginning of the level you have to shoot a green thing. but there's nothing there in each room. im assuming it turn invisble or?
how to proceed from level 1 for episode 5?
overall doesn't seem to be many issues with ultimate doom mins a few teleportation issues as well.
on levels like episode 1 map 9 when you cross the teleporter for enemies to ambush you. only 3 of those sack things or little guys not wake up. they get stuck sleeping. i think that happen in episode 3 i think or was it two as well?
so im usually forced to use noclip.
Hi there. I'm having trouble understanding how to start up the mod. Where exactly do the files go after I've downloaded them? I'm relatively new to modding the older DOOM's and this one piqued my interest, it reminds me to play Alien Trilogy again at some point.
Get the latest GZDoom source port from here: Zdoom.org
Once downloaded and installed, create a shortcut on the desktop. Click on the Alien_Eradication_TC...hold cntrl while also clicking on the Eradication mapset. Click/hold and Drag these two files on top of the GZDoom short cut on your desktop. Should start automatically. There are load order programs out there but I have never used them. Hope this helps.
All I can say to you Payload is that this job is pure PERFECTION! It catches the feeling of the ALIENS movie and combines it perfectly with Oldschool FPS style and Survival Horror. Keep up this amazing job! Btw my question is that can this be played in COOP? It would be a real blast!
Thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying it. Unfortunately, this version of the mod doesn't work correctly with co-op. I think it can be done with a lot of edits/changes, but co-op was never my intention. I may return to the idea later, but after working on this for a couple years now, that sounds daunting...lol. Now that I think about, the original kontra kommando mods might work with co-op. Try this, might work until I decide to fix the co-op in Eradication.

I recently decided to do AVP/AVP2/AVP 2010/Alien Isolation/Even A:CM again, as I am a mega fan of the franchise. Someone recommended this mod and I am gobsmacked. I can see how lovingly this has been made by fellow fans.

I just finished second site as mercenary on 'Hordes of Aliens' difficulty, what an experience! I literally had 2 health left at the end! After 2h 20 minutes of adrenaline pumping mayhem, 439 dead Xenomorphs littered the colony and my acid scarred body just made it out. My first impressions were great after just trying the game, after a proper session I now think this might be my favourite Alien franchise game ever after Alien Isolation...
I have no idea how you got everything so spot on and balanced! The action is great, yet it feels like a survival horror; always just on the edge of surviving but with guile and planning its not unfair. I quickly learned about setting traps, and tactical retreats to where I'd laid turrets down, those battles were extremely memorable experiences. Sorry to go on, but I'm just so impressed I'm honestly shocked.

i notice in level 3 or 4 or 5. there is an fps drop. not sure whats that about.
other than that i did notice turrets don't want to fire when an enemy is charging at me. it stalls.
Hello. Never noticed the fps drops before. The mapset might be a challenge, graphically, for some pc's. I've been trying to figure out the bug where the turret doesn't lock on to some enemies in rare circumstances. Think I have it worked out and will be releasing an update with some other small changes, soon. Of course some individual maps/wads may use blocking lines that impede the view of the turrets which will prevent lock-on as well. Thanks.
i see, that makes sense. i was noticing that in quit a bit different times when facing a huge number of enemies.

How can I change the hud in the game? In all the videos for this mod, I see a different arrangement of health indicators and other things. Instead of being located on all four edges of the screen (apparently as intended by the author), I have all this located strictly below, as in a classical doom. Because of this, I can't see how many turrets and other consumables I have.
And one more question. Is there any way I can reduce the wiggle when walking?

You should be able to simply press the +/= key on the keyboard to maximize the hud. Make sure the alternate hud is off in Hud Options. You can also turn off the view bobbing in the Hud Options.

i tested it. it all works. no issues.
like normally on 4.5 and below would have. no errors came out. even for doom_complete.pk3 works with both.

This is just SOOO good! Thank you for your hard work, I am loving it! Just a general question, because I am a sucker for detail like this: Any chance we will see some shell casings being ejected from the projectile based guns in the future? I love that in Alien Trilogy and in games in general.

Excellent mod all the way, no doubt one of the best Aliens based game out there.
Will there be more "official" maps or packs in the future? The quality of these is so good it's hard to just plugging in other wad's maps and get the same level of survival horror.
A new campaign is definitely in the works. A new update will be out later this week as well, with some fixes and improvements to the existing TC/Eradication maps. Currently working on a follow up to my Dark Universe mapset. Then a few more small projects and then back to aliens. Much too do...much less time to do them:)
