Mod to make the Alien ignore Amanda, but otherwise act the same. This means the Alien will kill other humans and perform scripted events properly. Alien does not perform drool attack from vents. Facehuggers also ignore Amanda.

Exceptions (which I will work on):

Alien will get you in lockers, and under the vent in Mission 5 if you run under it before it drops out.

Facehuggers will get your if you stand right next to an egg as it opens.

Hey as a person that rarely uses mods, I have to stop and thank you for creating this.

I love the atmosphere and level design of Alien Isolation, but couldn't really enjoy it with the alien constantly stalking me. The mod was easy and worked like a charm. I was able to walk around the Dr. Morley level at a leisurely pace now! :)

Thanks

Is it possible to have the alien follow you around? Like not ignore you, but also not activate any kill scripts?

I'm curious, for editing the file did you make any changes under the line ></File><File name="facehugger_behave.bml"> for example, to make the facehugger ignore you or was there another part of the file you edited? The reason is when I compare to the original _DIRECTORY_CONTENTS.BML (at least for the facehugger section) I don't or can't see any difference.

Starting to tinker with edits myself so was just wondering if you could elaborate a tiny bit? Thanks!

Oh I think I found what changes you made. Under multiple behavior trees (for example, alien_attack_core_checks.bml or alien_backstage_ambush.bml or alien_systematic_search.bml or facehugger_behave.bml and etc. etc. ) you added a condition before any other conditions that state:

<Node Class="LegendPlugin.Nodes.ConditionIsCharacterClass" CharacterClass="PLAYER:0" CharacterType="TARGET:1">
<Connector Identifier="ConditionFalse">

Which I assumes states that the "player" or us as "TARGET:1" is "ConditionFalse" which (and again I am assuming) tells the AI to ignore us and not attack.

If that sounds about right let me know :)

That sounds about right, but it has been years since I updated the mod, so I don't really recall.

Good luck with your mod! What are you modding?
