The PRA flexed its military muscle Monday evening in the skies west of Crete when a PRA Navy Shang class ballistic missile nuclear submarine, deployed secretly from its underground home base on the south coast of Damang Island, launched an intercontinental ballistic missile from international waters off the southern Crete coast.
INSCOM intelligence sources in Asia, including Australia, say the belief by the military commands in Asia and the intelligence services is that the PRA decided to demonstrate to the ESDF its capabilities on the eve of the ESDF Alliance Summit in Rome and the European-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Athens.
The missile demonstration represents a military and technological show of force by Beijing to London.
Missile experts, including those from TEC in Berlin, say the plume was definitely from a missile, possibly launched from a submarine. ENN has learned that the missile was likely a DF-1 MRBM, which has a range of 3,000 miles, and was fired in a easterly direction over the Mediterranean sea and away from ESDF territory from a Shang class submarine. The Shang class can carry a unknown payload of such missiles with MIRV capabilities.
Rumours continue to circulate that the Changdao-2 missile truck will adopt similiar DF-1 MRBM technologies but on a smaller scale.
The ESDF has spent billions on ballistic missile defense systems including the proton cannon defense network which made the Changdao-1 ICBM missile launcher network obsolete.
This PRA show of strength in regards to cruise missile technology which cannot be intercepted or detected before suitable preparations can be made, is of concern to the ESDF High Command.
Military personnel examine the remains of a Changdao-1 near the Turkish border.
