Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.
With Deneva Station destroyed, Kingon raiders are free to ravage Deneva's orbital infrastructure until USS Astraios comes to the rescue. Recommissioned as part of a reserve unit, the old starship's weapons are still potent enough to force the marauding Klingons into retreat.
Once the backbone of Starfleet's early exploration fleet, only a small handful of Daedalus-class starships remained in active service at the outbreak of the Four Years War. With the majority of their ships deployed against the Klingons, Starfleet reactivated many of its older starships to serve either in day-to-day non-combat roles, or as reserves.
