@SpecShadow, are you running the TOEE loader as admin, is the game installed in somewhere other than program files, (on Vista, Win7 and 8 the program files are heavily protected and it's better to install to my docs) do you have the intro movie disabled?

If these few quick tips don't do the trick come on over to Co8.org and we'll get you up and running.

I agree very good, if not the best turn based DnD adaption released to date.

Did you install the game to the default location?

If you didn't, I think you'll have to point the patch to were the TOEE main files are, (temple.exe).

You could also pop by Co8.org and read the trouble shooting post that covers every problem you might have.

Does this work with the Steam version?

I feel that the story is very good, although it's not as go here see this person do that and then go there and do this type of thing. TOEE is a little more of a "sand box" type approach to things. You have a journal and the quests you've initiated are shown there, but it's more or less up to you which you do first and how you handle them.

If you've played any PnP DnD this game will hit home with you. And if you like a good turn based RPG with high quality graphics and sound and more than a few surprises this is for you.

If you want a game where someone will hold your hand and send you to and from each quest with no room for exploring and no freedom to choose how you solve things, this this isn't for you.

btw, Icewind Dale is not a Hack n Slash in my opinion, although TOEE has a lot deeper story.

I use AVG also and all I did was when I install a game on Win7 I install it to a folder I created in the C drive called Games, then I can go to Anti-virus manage exceptions on the AVG User Interface and choose path instead of file and then choose the folder I created called Games as the path and everything in it will be completely ignored

As usual, Gaear and the gang come through with even more wasys to make TOEE the game it always deserved to be.

Thanks O Shiny one and friends for giving us another great version of a fantastic piece of work.

Not only does this mod squash many bugs, but adds tons of new content. It gives us new areas, creatures, and weapons. A must have for any serious crpg gamer!
