O RE faction consolidation and new faction addition, any thoughts on adding a Ming (Heavy Inf + Gunners) faction or African faction (like the Makuria from Broken Crescent)
Yeah the Roman artillery is pretty decent but guest does have an interesting point re romans copying and adapting. Would be an interesting mechanic if Romans unlocked certain units in the same way new world factions did.
Rome did lose a legion, I think a great place for a lost legion settlement would be on the Northern Tip of the "New World" near where the Viking faction are. Also RE factions +1 on the idea of combining the Teutonic and Pale knight factions together.
Also any thoughts on making this into a total showcase? Like working with other modders to use this as a place to showcase their work and mods for example the amazinf working Geoferry did for Broken Crescent, Nguyens work on Hyrule and Gigantus. Or event if its as simple as using the total engine overhaul to set custom forts with unique battle maps across the map in key entryways like you have for the Roman faction. There are just so many cool maps out there that people need to see and that the Faustians (cough black powder for the win) need to have.
Hey Axetothehead love the mod! Is there a discord for it thgh? If not you should set one on as a sub channel on the TW Rome 1 discord. Also any thoughts on making the Greeks to the east of the romans into an actual faction? It feel like there are enough unique units and it would make the bottom continent more dynamic. Also what are your thoughts on adding a Norse settlement on the Romania island?
How hard would it be to create a mod that allows you to recruit the special units of defeated factions if you occupy their capital city (or linked to the special city description)? Also is there anyway to shift the cap of special units based on the top tier city and the final tier of admin building? I've loved using my special unit but want a way for them to show up in the mid and late game.
O what are your thoughts on implementing a mercenary retraining system like ROTK mod did where while you cant recruit new units you can retrain them to refill the unit count outside the recruitment zone. IE like a port building.
