There are several bugs in the current release version that cause lag in multiplayer matches with AI, but are being addressed in the dev versions, and the majority of them seem to be fixed.

One trooper attack either indicates a too small map size for number of players, or you are playing on or below 100 maximum population. Expanded does not resign in the first minute of the match, and it doing so after that requires for it to have lost its Command Center, and all Workers on ordinary matchups, and on Nomad it must have less than 2 Workers, and No Command Center if it has no teammates. In games with teammates it will not resign as long as it has teammates that have Workers, and Command Centers.

In some cases AI gets stuck due to out of range enemies, so it is advisable to stick to the recommended map sizes for number of players. The release version still had a few bugs in some of the combat-arms that resulted in them sometimes not building units besides Workers at all, this will be fixed in the next version.

There were a few critical bugs that slipped past the radar, they will be addressed in the next update.

Improvements to the AI, as of now apply only to random map games, be it on the new EF random map scripts, or the ones that game with the original game. The campaign AI will have look taken when the campaigns themselves are.

Be aware 1.3 had some critical bugs in the random map AI that would cause it to not do much, the next release will fix them.

If you have any thoughts on what areas of the campaign AI needs fixing, you can find me on the Expanding Fronts Discord as MnHebi.

There were some deep lying logic faults that were not apparent in tests before release. Slowly rooting it out, already got to the point the AI now has units in T3 most of the time, and sometimes even in T2.

Next version, to prevent bugs from ruining player enjoyment, the old SWGB: Clone Campaigns AI adjusted to play the new civs, and use new units and techs will return as the default Computer player while the new AI is being perfected, which will be there as a selectable custom AI called "Computer Expanded".

Some unfortunate bugs that slipped past the radar, and somewhat too conservative limitations on units caused this, they are being solved as quickly as possible, but right now I am still working two jobs so my free time is relatively limited, but very soon I'll be able to get back to the AI in a greater capacity. The stock SWGB: Clone Campaigns AI will be restored to the Computer slot, and the new AI will be an custom AI so people have the ability to choose between them or mix, and match.

Next update, you will have a choice between the stock SWGB Clone Campaigns AI made to use the new civs and units which kind of plays like you want, and the new AI that does more specialized strategies which does not fit your suggestion.

You do not need to run the installer, just like I say in the instructions above, you open the folder 8.1.8 that is inside the zip file, then folder Total Annihilation Escalation that is inside the zip file, then extract TA_Features_2013.ccx to your Total Annihilation Escalation folder.

What map are you attempting to play? I am unfamiliar with that feature, but it would seem you are missing the TA community feature file that makes sure players get no crashes when playing community made maps.

Please, download Yadi.sk
Once you have, open the zip, open folder 8.1.8, open folder Total Annihilation Escalation, and extract TA_Features_2013.ccx to your Total Annihilation Escalation folder.

Do you have a "tamus" folder inside your Total Annihilation: Escalation folder?

My apologies for not responding to this in a timely manner, but as I responded to you in your private message, I make this instruction public.

If you are installing The Core Contingency from a disc, you must simply copy ccdata.ccx, ccmiss.ccx, and ccmaps.ccx from it to your Total Annihilation folder. The official 3.1 patch will take care of the rest.

Due to the way difficulty levels work in Total Annihilation, they lower the resource production of the Artificial Intelligence's units, thus on easy with the default 1000 metal 1000 energy, the AI runs out of energy to use, and will take a long time to recover it. If you do not want to increase the resource levels, cheat by giving the AI a few Solars, move your mouse where you want one, and type either +ARMSOLAR 1 or +CORSOLAR 1.

Your units not firing on medium, I would imagine it is that they do not fire on structures like Metal Extractors, and other structures with no weapons. Type +shootall

Otherwise, it would seem you have toggled Hold Fire.

Megamap is not a map, it is a feature, a much larger version of the minimap. Unfortunately, for some users it also causes crashes when used.

As soon as it gets into the map, or as soon as you select your commander? Cause if the latter it means you must choose a resolution that is higher than 768 pixels vertically.

Will work just fine on the Steam version, by all appearances it is the same as the GoG version beyond the DirectX redistributables folder Steam stuck onto the game folder.

Number of colors is hardcoded, adding more slots would not be worth the effort it would take to do that.

Structures that do have an adjancency bonus require only that you place two or more of them right next to each other to activate it. There cannot be any gap, they must be placed right next to each other. Energy Storages, Advanced Energy Storages, Fusion Reactors, Super Fusion Reactors, and Vaults have it.
