I know this is a pretty much dead thread, but you can fix nearly all source mods by adding every source SDK and HL game into the gameinfo AND by downloading an old version of the Orange Box or HL2EP2 (it is up to you how) then you copy the resources into one cruicible folder then you have to overwrite an old HL2EP2 instance with those files and folders, then you have to copy the mod's files into that folder overwriting some of them in the process.
This way your mod'll have all the resources to run propely (with or w/o Steam) and also can check for missing ones in the referenced SDKs and the new versions of the games.
Find a large double door with a lever and a battery slot on the ground front of it. Opposite side of the area.
There is a large room with two doors(one missing) whith a table in the middle, there is another room that you can access from it(looks like a personal office), you'll find your went there.
Does anybody know a legit way to acquire the code for the invisible platform room laser and the "should be" method for the spider escape with the crank elevator? Despite all the complains I finished the game without a single crash. I'd used a non Steam vesrion of the game. No warez of course, I'd recieved it as an annex for PC GURU magazine(2012/05).
By the way the hook for the rope does spawn randomly.
By the way what is the combination in the room where you collect the glowing orb with the invisible platforms (Indiana Jones sand trick). I can't figure it out!
Yeah, the whole thing is just way too hard or cryptic sometimes. Like when you have to bring down an elevator while spiders are attacking you. The only way I know as follows: jump on one of the spiders, then jump on the beam that holds the wheel. Otherwise the spiders will kill you, and if you let off the wheel for a second, then the cabin will go back up again, and you have to start over.
Dogs are also a funny thing they can follow you even after you evaded them. Only level change resets this behavior.
And a real bug: you have to turn on the laser with the open door first or the door will close itself off screen and you won't be able to access it. I had to turn on dev mode and reset the map, then wait for a walkthrough because I lost the "wet rag" item.
The funny thing that I haven't experienced any crashes this far.
That's what bothers me too.
You have a bug free (at least it probably has less bugs than nowadays AAA titles) mod, you can upload it any time without making it visible for the crowds and in spite of that you try to upload it in the last minute.
It wasn't funny at the first time either.
Yeah the spokesman of the developers is using a fresh account. Not suspicious at all.
Because someone is wrong on the internet.
Now that's what I'd call unexpected. The illuminati in Lost Alpha, smrtphoneusr's back from "death" and a Postal 2 DLC after 11 years. And we still have 2 months and 12 days in this year.
We should spread the word, but I don't know where and how.
I've never thought that a game only bringing cheap jump scares (jump scares are just simply cheap, it's a fact) can be this scary. I mean really scary. And it almost managed to shake off the Slender sickness that plagues a lots of recent horror games. You have to think and plan lot (despite the simpleness of the game) more than in Outlast or than in Daylight, those games were dumbed down to get more sales. And the AI also works a lot better than in the aforementioned games. I hope the golden standard of the Penumbra series and The Dark Descent are coming back soon.
I hope you won't stop making good games in the near future!
I have the same problem. It's quite funny, even the "Insert Title Here" crap working under 64 bit OS.
The game's built in error report say, that the KERNELBASE.dll made an unhandled exception.
LOL I've got this from a PC magazine(PC Guru, Hungary), and it's come with 1.2 patch(as far as I know there is no 'safe' 1.2 crack, so everyone have to buy the game someway to play the most of the mods :P) and White Night.
Mitch Desura CAN recoginze Steam games, all of them. Delete the game and try to install a mod. If your e-mail is the same as on Steam, it'll automatically pop up and here we go, the game is coming down and Desura can see it.
Oh and the pirates, I belive, that a sane person don't buy anything before he tries it out. But if YOU LIKE IT, YOU BUY IT.
Good to see, that some of the biggest S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mods are still alive!
(technically just Lost Alpha for SoC and Misery for CoP are making progress; Stalkersoup of SoC still looks like a soup[although it made progress]; the Complete series[no updates], Mystery for CS[no updates, but they only work with materials from this mod] and the SMRTER for CoP[1 guy is trying to make a total conversation and his PC broke down, unexpected way of a long expected sad early end, how strange] are dead enough).
Great mod, I hope the update'll come soon.
Is this mod dead dead or the 2012 Update just late?
Spray paint to mark where you've been before. Creative, excellent!
Amazing, but Jupiter and Zaton are at the south part of the map? It doesn't make any sense. They should be next to Chernobyl(by the original game plot), but Chernobyl should be on the other side of the river(geographically).
Also, the little forest is strange, it's in every bigger mod, always on a different place and with a different name....
I can't wait to play.
I'm sorry, but I have to ask. Which patches should I install before I'll play?
DorminColossus: The mod called Stalkersoup actually exists? I thought It's some kind of rumor.
Anyway I checked it out.
I'll download it, but the global map looks bad, real bad. The double Pripyat is a great thing, but the other maps (on the other side of the river) are useless.
Is there a global map of SMRTER 0.45? Or it's a top secret?
DoctorFoX: there is 200 guns, but you'll use only 2 or 3. :P
Anyway the mod looks great, and the updates are times more frequent than the Lost Alpha.
smrtphoneusr: Did you thouched the level geometry on the SoC and CS levels?(exept new map change points)
For the Half Life mods(for all Half Life series) should I buy it on Steam or the Disc version is better for mods?
There isn't any ultimate artefact or armor. You even have to choose between upgrades. Choose wisely and they'll compensate each other.
Eat before every raid, more food mean more weight.
Never loot during the battle, you are more vulnerable those times.
Some ammunition are heavier than others, chose wisely your weapons.
If the controller can't see you it can't hurt you, stay in cover.
Poltergeists are only see moving things. If you don't move it can't see you.
It looks like the bandits' 'building' at Cordon with furniture.
Crap. First this and now S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 also 'postponed indefinitely'.
The only hope is the Dezowave team, they can, and maybe will modify SMRTER with Wolf storyline, if we're lucky.
