No this is something that requires some hard coding i would expect and as of yet none has been done in GOF 1.1 or GOF 1.2 which is close to been finished.
I also haven't had any problems apart from in testing new things. Are you using a crack?
None taken bud, we know not everything that is included will be liked and as of yet the original sound files was not given any kind of switch allowing you to choose between vanilla or modded sounds but it will be taken into consideration for a later mod. At the moment the next installment in GOF "GOF 1.2" will not allow you to switch between the sounds but maybe GOF 1.3 will.
Ok bud, thats goods news about the mod, i use IE9 and to be honest i don't like it but i haven't had any problems with downloads yet but now i know it might happen i know what to look out for.
Thank you and yes the install order as it stand at the moment is GOF 1.0 and then GOF 1.1. GOF includes all past combined mods, we just renamed the mod to a more fitting name. In effect you could say GOF is CMV3.3 or CMV4.0 which ever way you want to look at it.
But in short you should not download and install any of the mods that was released before GOF 1.0 because they will make the game unplayable as they will not be compatable with GOF 1.0 or GOF 1.1 due to updated files. As said though GOF already includes all changes you would have found in all past mods for COAS.
Yes i agree 97,000 is far to much and does need lowering to around 5000 doubloons at most. Maybe we can find the code and fix that for GOF 1.2.
Do you have win rar installed?
You can right click on GOF 1.1 and then celect change icon to something else, but in less your computer can recognise exe's you will need to install something or maybe its your firewall blocking things. I am not the person to ask about things like this but you can try searching google or asking over at pirates ahoy.
Is it showing as a exe?
If its showing as a internet short cut then that will be why its trying to take you to a web page.

After the download has finished are you navigating to the folder its downloaded in manually or clicking mon the tab downloads from the bar that comes up to notify the download has finished?
Also have you tried putting into the search box in the start menu GOF1.0?
I am not sure whats going on for you then, Are you running windows 7 with internet explorer 9?

I often think how cool would it be to walk onboard one of those ship knowing you are the captain. I don't think i would like to go into battle with one though, but to own one would be so awesome.

No they don't offer skill boosts now, the books do and i believe some of the rare iteams still do but not the more common iteam's.

Follow the instructions in the post and you will be able to play as the pirates as well.

The ship upkeep costs are reflected by your skills, if your skills are very to low for a class 5 ship then that will increase the ship upkeep. If you was sailing a class 6 ship you wouldn't have any problems. The most i have payed is 28k and that was sailing a class 4 Ftigate and a companion sailing a class 6 Pinnace with full crew on both ships. But my skills are high so i could sail a class 2 ship if i wanted which is why the ship upkeep for the lower class ships is lower. Also your leadership effects the upkeep.
I am sure amost all your skills do in one way or another, so build your skills up and you should be fine. If not then put the ship in dry dock and use a class 6 ship till your have built your character up more.
Yes sorry about that, we have fixed this and is included in the next page, but as of yet has no release date because we are still working on some things. However the fix for this bug is bellow.
1. Extract the file.
2. Move the file to Age of Pirates 2\Program\characters
3. When asked to overwrite, say yes.
4. Start a new game and select pirates.
5. Have fun bud.
Yes we have fixed this in the next patch how ever that is not due out yet because we are still working on it. But to fix this bug download the update bellow, extract the file and put it in "Program\characters" when asked do you wish to overwrite say yes. Start a new game and pick any nation or pirates and the game will allow you to pass from the ship to land with no problems.
Hey MK, i wouldn't give up because some moron decides he wants to slander us for working on a game he doesn't know anything about and most likely is refering to the first Age Of Pirates game which i never played but do own.
We have all done amazing things with COAS, as each mod has come together we have seen the game become something that it should have been. I love this game, its one game that i can't turn away from. Your work with the waterlines is really good and makes the ships look so much better, FB's skill books are a nice addition as was the new goods for trading. Craiggo's textures and little details to ships and so on to OP's work, Jonathan's etc etc. If someone was to to tell me COAS would become what it has back when i first started playing i would have said good because it has so much potential to be even better and what we have done with GOF as amazing as it is their are still a lot of potential in this game.
RPG's is not for everyone, they are not my kind of game either but COAS is a different type of RPG and thats what makes COAS unique for me. I look forward to helping put together manay more mod packs and patches with you guy's and give everyone a much more enjoyable game to play.

Thanks bud, i am having a good time. I don't normally play as the pirates because i tend to start of as a merchant from the get go, but i wanted to show the differences between starting as a pirate since it requires a different way of playing. I am working on part 4, should be ready sometime tomorrow or Saturday.

Your welcome guy's, the patch does not fix the beeping but that will be fixed in a future patch or full mod. We are obviously wanting to play the game for a bit now and take time out from modding, so we can enjoy the game and relax for a while.
For now anyone looking for the patch can get it from here.
All we can do is point you to this topic on PA which is where the new mod (GOF 1.0) will most likely be available to download first, as we are still having problems with this site.
Please see the pirates ahoy forum for links to the later mod CMV3.2, which is in exe form so all you have to do is guide the exe to the COAS directory to install it. But also we are getting ready to release GOF 1.0 now so it would will also be a exe. You can find information about both CMV3.2 and GOF 1.0 on the pirates ahoy forum.
Hey bud, the problem for the save game been greyed out could be because you have turned hard core on. After picking the character you wish to play with you will see 2 check boxes at the bottom, 1 for auto reload pistals and the other for hardcore game. Make sure hardcore game isn't checked before starting a new game as this will only allow you to save in churches also the game difficulty will force you to have to save in churches. This is not a feature added by the mod or changed by the mod team.
Cannons not firing can be due to not having powder or enough of it onboard, or not enough ammo of the given shot type loaded.
I have just added some screenshots, i will capture more as i test things out and as for the release date. All we can say is keep checking here, it should be availabe in the next few day's.
