Just a minor question I have but, from what I've seen a Predator Tank with a railgun upgrade can best a Gauss Tank while being a whole lot cheaper (Same issue with the Gauss Titan and it's regular counterpart). Even if we consider their situational ability/gimmick I don't think it's worth 3x the price of a regular one.
So what exactly do the Gauss vehicles have that makes them worth the price? Just wondering.

I'm currently unable to fully install the mod because once I reach "created uninstaller" this message appears:

download failed: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found

I've also installed every standalone (faction) mods and the prerequesites like the unification mod (even though Mod Manager says Renegade Guards hasn't been installed) yet the issue still persists.

Is there anyway to fix this issue?

Edit: Nevermind, problem solved. Should've read the FAQ. Just needed to untick Tyranid installation, my bad.

Alright I fixed the problem, game is up and running smoothly thanks for the advice!

Also while I'm at it, I don't know if this is the right place but I just have a few very minor bug reports:

-USA Robots: Drone Controller, when asked to attack an enemy over a hill the drone launcher will just send the drones crashing straight into the hill (not sure if this is intentional)

-USA Super Weapons: When using a map reveal (drone, intelligence, satellite scan) the EMP Patriots Missile will play the data transfer animation and will briefly shoot outside of its intended range.

-China Infantry: When asking a garrisoned Suan Ni to move over neutron mine infested areas, the garrisoned units inside will instantly get killed while passing over.(Not sure if intentional but it seems to destroy the epic unit's effectiveness against China).

-GLA Stealth: Stealth seems to get magically bypassed for no reason ( I had a group of idle Azael camp on the other side of the map just to have them get constantly bombarded by the Dong Feng's Incendiary Missiles and incendiary artillery even though I had an Azaraksh nearby just in case a drone might be around). This is probably because the AI had nowhere else to aim since all of my forces were invisible.

I have tried all the steps above and I think I might have found the source of the error (?). Before reinstalling the game I tried running the (unmodded) game and it said that I needed to insert disc 1 and even after following all the steps above and reinstalling the game the same thing persisted with the Vanilla game saying I need disc 1 to launch and the modded version launching with the purple texture issues. I retried with the 008 version of Contra and to my surprise the error also crept up in that version (even though it didn't happen before)

This might be coming on my end since perhaps something in my version of C&C generals might have been corrupted.

Hello there, I have just recently encountered a texture error upon installing this version of Contra over the previous one:

At the start of a game, the ground becomes completely purple while some building textures either becomes all purple or just downright disappear. After a few seconds the game crashes and is followed by the common error message about having encountered a serious error and all.

Is this normal? and is there anyway to fix this?

I (sort of) managed to get the game working with Origins. The maps, the buildings, the neutral units (abrams, humvee),the features all seem to work...
however I can't seem to be able to play as any of the mod factions, I mean I can still pick the vanilla factions like Nod, GDI and Scrin.
They are still playable except I can't upgrade or use unit abilities anymore (harvesters don't know where to go).

So far if anyone is interested in getting the game working with this mod or at least most of it (I tried it with Tiberium Essence and it worked perfectly) on Origins here's how you do it:

1 )In the game file:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer 3 TW and KW\Command Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars

Add "MEC2" into that folder

2)In the Core file open the 1.9

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer 3 TW and KW\Command Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\Core\1.9

Add "mec2.big" and "FXmod.big" to that folder

3) In the same folder open the config file in notepad and edit it to this:

add-big patch9.big
add-big FXmod.big
add-big mec2.big
add-config ..\1.8\config.txt

Be sure that the config file is not Read Only(Properties). Save.

Done.

The game will launch MEC2 every time you run it you will get all the features from the mod except for one thing however: you can only play as the default factions (good luck trying to find any speck of Tiberium on the new maps) but hey at least you can still enjoy the cool maps.

I checked what the risks of warping were :

"This cheat should only be used in a dire emergency as it can seriously mess up your game. Scripts that are supposed to run will not run and variables will not be set and your entire game could be ruined. You can also use this cheat for fun: jump around and get screen captures of area maps (using the "revealmap" cheat); practice swoop racing without going through the track manager and paying for track use; practice the turret minigame; etc. Using a cheat will cause your savegames to have a "Cheat Used" stamp placed on them."

I noticed it crashed every time I had companions with me when it was loading, its ok I'm gonna try finding other ways to fix it, thanks for helping anyways! :)

Ths may sound a little stupid, but how do you do that because the crash happens when you escape from the sith in Peragus pretty much at the beginning so I can't really warp to anywhere...

I successfully installed the mod in hopes it would also fix the bug where the game would always crash when I enter the loading screen after exiting the hangar from Peragus with the Ebon Hawk but it still happened. :/
Is there actually anyway to fix this?
I tried a lot of ways to fix this but I none of them worked (like changing the kotor2.ini).
Please help!

PS:I'm using the Steam version of the game

I did what you wrote but when I opened the game I see the Alpha Alliance sceen then when I'm in I see the original General ZH menu ,gameplay,etc...

Everytime I try to launch the game, the game opens a black screen as if its working perfectly but then it shuts down....

Are there any solutions and I also managed to play normaly before I got my windows 7.

Every time I launch the game it says:
"You have encountered a serious error . Serious errors can be caused by viruses..etc"

are there any solutions to this problem.I can still play the unmodded C&C Gen ZH though.

Can someone help please every time I enter Project Reality all I see is a black screen and then a window opens and says Failed to load Effects:

X StaticMesh,fx(2): error X1507: failed to open source file:
'mods/xpack/shaders/datatypes.fx'

Please help I really want to play this mod
