If you look at the batch file (aka open it with notepad++) then you can see that it tries to launch the kingdoms.exe, so if you only have medieval2.exe in Medieval II Total War folder then simply copy it (medieval2.exe) and rename the copy to kingdoms.exe .

So you should now have both medieval2.exe and kingdoms.exe in the Medieval II Total War folder.

I'm using steam and never found the need to rename the mod folder using the expansion names by doing that. Your mileage might vary though *shrug*

I can suggest calling it Game of Thrones: Beyond the Wall or Game of Thrones: Veil of Blue (referring to the blue eyes of white walkers) or simply call it Game of Thrones: Life or Death. I dunno, just a few of my suggestions.
Also linking the Three-Eyed Raven into the title came to mind, but couldn't think of a title itself.

Anyhow, both Gendry and Steffon Baratheon have Stark bodyguards still set as their unit (Which they shouldn't? And even if they should the texture files are yet again not linked for the faction in the battle_models.modeldb file)

Also when Gendry dies it says that the leader of House Targaryen has died. That's just a pop up message error.

About the Targaryens having two leaders, it's for the main campaign (I haven't really looked into the other campaigns). The issue seems to be that both Daenerys and Ardrian Celtigar have the leader tag in the descr_start file. Removing the leader tag from Ardrian seems to have fixed the problem.


Well the only reason I thought it would be best to remove dragons as physical units is cause flying isn't something that the engine supports and thus it would look better focusing on the strengths of the game rather than keep forcing on with something that would hardly even fit the passable category in the end.

Just lowers the overall quality of the mod in my opinion. But hey if that's part of your vision then keep on working on it :)

First of all, Merry Christmas!

Here are a few of my opinions and observations.

My biggest worry has to do with the name of the mod. Both Fire and Blood AND Winds of Winter are titles used for Medieval 2 Total War modifications before. Wouldn't it make sense to give a unique name for this submod?

Like if someone were to make a let's play using this mod it would get lost amongst all the other ones. Not to mention the confusion with the searchability of the mod in general.


Why is Gendry the faction leader of the Baratheon house now?
This seems to follow the series, right (I mean in books, I believe Gendry is still just a smith at the crossroads)?

It made more sense seeing Gendry as a Stark general like in the last version. Yet why he had a stack of Stormland units is beyond me. Not to mention you forgot to link their texture files to be used for "scotland", which I spent half an hour doing and then saw you upload this version :D


Now to the dragons. I highly recommend you remove them as units. Flying units have never been done gracefully in any other Medieval 2 mods and yours will be no exception. They are just going to ruin the immersion and heck up the gameplay.

Dragons are all about epicness and there's nothing epic about a block with wings rolling around the map :P

I believe you are far better off making the dragons as traits for Daenerys. Leave the sweeping attacks as part to be imagined by the players.

Also you made the cost of those dragon units way too high so Targaryens will be losing like 15 000 coins per turn.

Also what's with the Targaryens having two faction leaders? I haven't looked much into it yet, but it made me raise an eyebrow when I noticed it.


It's the most stable Game of Thrones Med 2 mod that I have played, no crashes thus far so that's great (Well actually, I haven't played this version much so the comment goes mostly for the previous version).

Also I had to rename the mod to a DLC (eg. crusades) and launch it as that from steam for the campaign to work. If I left the mod name as GOT_Enchanced and launched the exe file then every time I tried to play the campaign it crashed with an unspecified error.

Does the mod have a Twitter account that we could follow for stuff like this? I mean, having a Twitter account wouldn't hurt and it would also be easily accessible.

I doubt people hang out in ModDb all the time, but I can safely say that a lot of people check their Twitter regularly.

Well the wrong URLs that I see are in this section of the summary:

So the na1384461219 should be changed with galaxy-at-war-clone-wars . For all I know, I might be the only one with the problem with the links, but I did test with different browsers and they all ended with a destination into an error screen.

Edit: had to put spaces around the moddb parts, cause otherwise they would automatically turn into links- so just pretend that they ain't there :)

Thanks for answering!

I actually found that tutorial when I was googling for EaW and FoC modding guides, but not much else came up. So I am either using the wrong keywords or looking in all the wrong places.

What I wanted to start with was to add a RPG element into the game. Like adding my own jedi avatar into the conquest mode that could command a capital ship in space battles and be a ground "hero" in land fights.

Or going even further than that by having a padawan that would accompany you in ground battles and fly out of your capital ship's hanger bay with a jedi starfighter in space battles. If that's even possible.

Something with MinModVersion and MaxModVersion:
Delete these two files completely from the mod.info in the Mod Folder!

Well I changed it to

{MinGameVersion "3.001.0"}
{MaxGameVersion "3.201.1"}

and that allowed me to activate the mod on the latest version.
But now my options screen looks like this (https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1129x650q90/903/xN8xJf.png).

Haven't been able to test the mod in editor itself though since my graphics card died (Yet the editor did launch with no problems with the mod activated after following the steps that came in the instructions)
