Excellent :D
Ferdinand gonna be a call-in I hope. Ferdi/Elephant is one of those tanks that defines the Eastern Front to me.
I was wondering if it would be possible to add more suits to the game? I miss the ecologist suits from the previous games, there were also some fancy Clear Sky suits in CS. CoP also has some equipment the player can't acquire like the exoskeleton undersuit(aka radiation suit) and I think a unique Freedom Exo. There's already a plenty of weapon options but I'm kinda miffed abiuyt the lack of variety in suits.
I helped Duty(roleplay reasons) and their suits are always bad because of the lack of artefact containers, and so I can't get freedoms equipment either. Seva is bad for combat and combat suits are bad for anomaly diving, so I'm almost forced to wear Exo. Now I can use all kinds of cool guns thanks to misery but what if I would like to wear an ecologist suit instead of having the game force me to upgrade along a linear suit path?
It's intentional and happens in the vanilla as well, talk to the other stalkers in the boat.
After getting used to the difficulty and lack of equipment I've been enjoying the mod pretty much, aside from the xxx1337_n0sc0pexxx_420 zombies.
One question tho, why can't the UMP45 equip a scope? It does have rails on top for just that purpose...
Third artefact I found was a Wretched with -4 rads, mwahahaha. Also merc encamptment makes me cry, mofos spot me from a mile off and then bam! headshot.
I started a new game after installing patch 2 but I don't think I've found a single weapon yet that anyone would buy. Which is rather hilarious when a rookie armed with a sawn-off shotgun is too picky to buy an AK-74 I'm offering because it's not in good enough condition for him.
Understandable, especially the studies part... Not that I have any time to play games either but glad to hear you are still here :)
I might be a bit biased about it, but any chance of seeing a SAKO TRG? It's available in a civilian hunting variant even if it is a tad expensive, but it might be plausible that someone bougth one for a lil' boar hunting ;)
I agree on the point that at some point 'realism' becomes more restrictive than definitive. In MEC2 I liked how you took a potential conflict and potential technology but then went beoynd that and added your personal touches to make the whole sum of it stand out. Kinda like how you designed the units based on real live hardware but gave them believable updates to fit BOTH the gameplay and in-universe characteristics. Eg. Berkut or the hybrid-Merkava
Nowadays I cringe when yet another 'real' wargame is announced because there is very little to expect from them. I was just playing the new Ace Combat and felt really disappointed about the move back to reality with no crazy flying fortresses and enemy aces in 6th generation scifi aircraft. Reality should, imho, be more of a springboard than the foundation for both visual style and gameplay. Hence why I quite often toy with near-future or cyberpunk style games nowadays.
Speaking of MEC2, I think my favourite part is the level design and how the levels felt alive and had plausible scenarios that made them feel alive. Also gotta love the ads on UN buildings.
Dunno how interested you guys are about making situations on real events, but how about Falkland Crisis? British and Argentina in an amphibious war that featured a lot of infantry and air-sea combat. Neither of the factions are too common in games, not to mention the time period.
Scrin Pacifier? Scrin Regulator/Assimilator/Overtaker(yeah maybe not)/Dominator/Mindjacker?
Finns with captured T-26 tanks maybe...? :)
I might have gone with the Panther II/Panther Ausf. F project for the interim medium but I'll keep watching this, hard to make my mind up from an early preview.
I'm failing to see the similarities. Most of the Pershing prototypes (T20, T23 and T26) had very little in common with the T-34. The drivetrain and suspension are/were completely different, as is/was the general shape.
Congratulations on release, great work which I can't wait to test.
Any chance of Far-East Crisis on SCII? ;)
C&C Generals 2: The epic tale of 'General' Shepard who rides around the world on the aircraft carrier USS Normandy, recruiting jihadists and chinese warlords to do battle against the true evil behind the conflicts; The Moon Illuminati. The game will feature fully voiced dialogue and an innovative ingame romance system where the player can potentially marry his soldiers or vehicles while the battle is going. Also included is a skip button that passes over a given mission and straight to the next cutscene. The dungeo... battlefields will be totally unique to prevent repetition. The game will include multiple endings depending on where the player built his sandbags.
For some historical if a bit futuristic german weapon maybe take a look at the fliegerfaust? Essentially a multi-shot man-portable rocket launcher. It was meant for anti-air but was too inaccurate, but who says you can't shoot tanks with it? Linky: En.wikipedia.org
Finns obviously. Same enemy even if finns and germans fought side-by-side pretty rarely, volunteers (waffen-ss etc.) besides.
Schwarzwolf was indeed designed for the SS, by Enterbrain studios, Japan, in 2000...
Featured in Panzer Front for PS1 and Dreamcast, good game that.
