I think the realistic looks much better.
In the screenshots and videos with the simplistic colors, everything kind of clashes since some models have shadows and there is no light source.

Don't worry, not all maps will be like this. I do find it a nice mix up however to have maps with frames beneath the glass. It just adds an extra thing to be aware of. I do however appreciate the comment! Thank you!
