I'm a mod/game creator from a russian town Saint-Petersburg.
I'm a big fan of horror mods and horror indie games.
My favorite engine is Build (EDuke 32) and I made a lot of projects based on this engine. Visit my blog to check them out.
Half-Quake Amen is one of the most amazing things I have ever played. I first played it when I was 12 or something, so you can imagine an effect it had. The gameplay was never frustrating to me, I just enjoyed it for the atmosphere and music. And humor, yes.
I'm so glad I played it when it came out. Never played anything like this since.
I cannot defeat Kingpin. I wasted all my ammo on him and he simply won't die. Am I doing something wrong?
Btw, just added a menu to the game, with a mouse invert option.
Hey Mikko, thanks for the awesome review of Electric Highways!
Oh well, I guess Indie DB is pretty much abandoned.
Очень прикольно, но на странице нужно больше видео и скриншотов из самой игры, а то на первый взгляд неясно, что тут такое. Поезда какие-то, здание серое. И еще написать в графе новостей о релизе демки
"If you think that this is just a generic Slender clone, you are wrong! This Slender game will be even better than that! This Slender game will offer different locations for you to explore. Different threats for you to face. You will not be only collecting pages."
It better have locations, puzzles and scripted events. When I played Slender in 2012, I was hoping that people will make Slenderman games where you have to do other things besides collecting pages. Slenderman seemed to me like a concept that has tons of potential, I really liked him, I couldn't wait for some cool games to be released.
Nowadays, Slenderman is nothing more than a joke, a fad that just fades away, thanks to all clone games with overused formulas. It's funny to think that there's only about 2 or 3 Slenderman games released after the original Slender that did something else besides recycling the same formula.
Making a demo featuring an object collecting mechanic was a mistake. I don't care if it's a placeholder or homage to The Arrival. Screw object collecting, I'm so sick of it. I hope future versions will have an actual gameplay to offer. Three years and I'm still looking for a decent Slenderman game to play, and I almost lost hope.
If I'll ever have a game development career, I'll be referencing this game as my biggest "sell out" point. A game like this could only be big in 2012-2013 because of the indie horror bandwagon. I have to admit, I was really happy when the game got to mainstream horror scene, and for me it was a big achievement. As you said, the game didn't age well, and the mechanics & graphics look rather sloppy nowadays (especially the walking speed, dunno what I was thinking), and I'm even kinda ashamed of including it in my portfolio, but at the same time, it allowed me to show some of my skills to the public and helped me gain some experience in game development. So, I'm not afraid of its existence. 2012 was a good time for indie horror, when every new game seemed like the scariest thing ever. Well, for a short period of time, at least.
I remember when Sunrise was released, I was really excited. I loved Amen SO MUCH, one of my favorite mods ever. So, I started playing Sunrise, and soon got... really bored. Amen was more like an experience game with some hardcore gameplay elements, and it was a perfect combination. Sunrise is all about hardcore gameplay, which can be really frustating in large doses. I especialy hate the beginning of the game, which is really boring and lacks the humor and atmosphere of Amen. I know, Half-Quake series are all about making the player feel like a helpless victim, but Amen did it much better, and without frustation. All in all, Sunrise was a disappointment for me. Even the music is not as impressive as it was in Amen.
Very unusual mod. The kitsch atmosphere probably explains why the score is below 9 - this mod is not for everyone, I guess. Personally, I think it's a masterpiece. Very good sence of humor, great music & loads of fresh ideas.
One of the best mods in terms of mapping. Though, I hate the water level and train section, too boring & not fun.
You're a fan of Gary Numan? I just heard Call Out The Dongs in Crack Life
I know this section supposed to be "moderately difficult", but there's a difference between difficult and impossible. Besides, jumping on cubes simply isn't fun.
Nice game, but lacks interactivity. Also, I suggest to remove or fix the platforming section, it's atrocious. Still can't make it.
Currently it looks like somebody just put a picture of a light on screen. I mean, it doesn't change it's shape when the player looks around.
The flashlight physics can also be improved.
Very good game, nice atmosphere and graphics. I'd suggest to add the sprint button, because it can be very tedious to walk slowly from one place to another. Also, what's the code for storage room?
Of course, no problem c:
The download soon will be authorised. Stay tuned!
Possible reasons of OpenGl errors:
1. 8-bit renderer is accidently chosen.
Solution: Choose the 32 bit renderer in the starting setup screen.
2.Video card driver needs to be updated. Very common for Radeon owners.
Solution: update the video card driver.
3.The machine is Outdated. It also very common for netbook/notebook users.
Solution: Sadly, there's no solution for this problem. Try to play the game on another machine.
I don't mind, hehe. Of course you can use it. Sorry for the delay.
The game you're playing is not the one from this page.
I like the atmosphere and some of the scares, but right now, this is basically yet another Slender clone. Haven't we got enough already? Some gameplay variety would be nice. I really hope you'll drop the overused page collecting formula and do something different.
Watch the video.
It's made on Build engine.
Thanks. I don't mind, hehe.
Please post a win32 version
Hello. Glad you liked the game!
In the house, you supposed to jump out of the window after picking up the key
