Perhaps the devs could make that item only spawn after the quest is accepted? Noo idea if that's possible, but this isn't the first comment I've seen about this.

I was getting this error. What magically fixed it was deleting the user.ltx file (inside appdata folder) and then try running the game again.

Yeah Nathanius is right, one of my old lappies got a BSOD and refused to turn on (BSOD at every startup). So I eventually pulled the hard drive out and hooked it up to my main computer through a USB cable (PATA to USB...for a desktop PC I believe you want SATA to USB +eBay is your friend here) to extract files off of it that I wanted to keep. The BSOD hard drive is now waiting to be reformatted for a fresh reinstall of Windows XP and put back in the lappy. ^,..,^
I don't think there's anything to worry about, but I wish you luck with that in any case. I've been looking forward to this mod for a long time now.

+1. I been trying to dl this mod for a couple days now, no luck yet. It doesn't make sense to put the largest mod I've ever seen on the slowest and most unreliable file host I've ever seen. =\
& the internet here cuts out all the time which hasn't helped. I haven't exp'd it last longer than 5 hours without a disconnect and depositfiles estimates over 8 hours download time. >.<
Atm depositfiles is doing that thing where it just refreshes the page over and over and makes you wait 60secs each time whenever I attempt to download the mod again.
I've managed to download a maximum of 1.2GB on that 65/70kbps dl speed so far (best attempt). I'd have got the mod by now if it was hosted on moddb with dl speeds up to 500kbps. D:

This happened because the connection between you and the server was interrupted during download, resulting in the download stopping mid-way and without suspecting a thing you tried to install it anyway in its incomplete state. By interrupted, I mean you lost connection or something.
That is why it didn't work. In order for it to work properly, ensure that you have downloaded the entire file fully and try again. I've been getting this a lot lately on this sux connection (disconnects every 5mins to 1 hour). :\
