Yeah I'm going through the same thing (I'm locked at 60 in fullscreen though), there was some edit that says the dgVoodoo2 fix will work if you just "follow the guide and put all the DLL files in the folder", but what results is my framerate goes from 50 to 120 wildly.

So I tried going to windowed mode with F11 and playing it that way, which uncaps the framerate (I have a 144hz monitor). But the problem is, windowed mode is locked to like 1920x960, and even when I edit the XIII.ini file so WindowedViewportX and Y are 1920x1080, launching the game overrides it and puts it back to 1920x960 (based on the limited selection in the in-game menu IIRC).

I also tried the borderless fullscreen solution in the PCG wiki but that has its own problems in locking the mouse to a limited selection around the top half of the screen, and it didn't seem to unlock the framerate either.

Edit: Maybe the patch is working as intended but it seems the framerate goes down if you look in a large room or whatever. Perhaps you need a super beefy GPU, I'm only on a 1060.

The installer has you set the language as soon as you start it, I thought.

Hey! I'm just about to finish this game using this version of GMDX on realistic hardcore difficulty. I just got past the sector 3 entrance in Area 51 (after murdering everybody with my trusty plasma launcher, of course), but not before spending like an hour trying to find the damn key to open the sector 3 doors. In the OG game it's in the barracks with the dead scientist (at least, according to a walkthrough), but in here it wasn't, and I ended up going around in circles, reloading a save so many times, until I noticed that it was up the damn ladder where the control room of the giant fan is.

I didn't know you could go up that ladder (I went down into the fan room) because the game's a bit dark as other people noted here on the dx10 renderer, but I think it's still a little easy to miss, so maybe some red light up on the ladder there would be nice. I only realized that by finding one other person on the steam forums wondering where it was then finding it on their own because they too didn't climb up the ladder.

And another thing with that room, I don't know if it's a vanilla bug, but sometimes the cargo train that opens the doors and speeds by doesn't open the doors and phases through them, meaning that you have to try and float yourself on top of the rail which is a pain.

Also, as for the new addiction system... I don't know if it really fits with the game. I became a smoker addict because it's hilarious, and I like the buffs, but it just means you need to carry around smokes if you don't want to go through withdrawl, taking up precious space. And you can only carry like, 4 packets or something, too. I was a little annoyed when I purchased 20 packets of smokes and I could only carry 4/5, haha. The buffs last so short and the withdrawl comes in not long afterwards, so there's large stretches of gametime where you'll be debuffed. I have no idea how zyme addicts are gonna deal with it considering zyme basically disappears like half-way through the game (or at least, I don't remember it showing up in the last 5 levels).

But anyway, aside from that, I'm loving this playthrough. The aug wheel is especially useful considering I can't be bothered reminding half of my augs.

The button is the same button you use for secondary fire (default - right click), I changed it to middle click so I could have right click as MMOD's aim/zoom

Hey, has anyone figured out how to get HL2Ep1 (and I assume ep2) developer commentary working with this mod? I found a steam guide to get it working with HL2:update (here: Steamcommunity.com ), but the text files with commentary at the end are missing in the map files for ep1&2. Are they hidden or something in ep1&2?

Typing in commentary_available or commentary 1 in the mmod game says these txt files are missing. But playing HL2ep1's dev commentary works fine. But I want to play the commentary with this mod. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: Nevermind. Turned out I had an older version of this mod that didn't have commentary enabled. Redownloaded and installed the latest and putting in 'commentary 1' in episode 1 worked perfectly, no need to transfer text files over or anything.

This is an awesome mod, really surprised to see such an extensive mod for this game, when such a mod wasn't available for the first two, reminds me a bit of the MWGO mod for Morrowind.

Only one issue I seem to be having that's preventing me from playing; I have two monitors, and whenever I move to turn, my cursor isn't locked to my main screen, so if I click I minimise the game, unless I want to constantly readjust the cursor (no thanks). I had read that apparently this is brought upon by this mod, however I just want to make sure you are aware of this, or maybe it's on my end or something. I had disabled the "frozen mouse cursor fix" in the troubleshooting section of the sneaky tweaker, but that didn't solve the problem.

However, I have since found a work-around that works, by using the "Cursor Lock" program, but Just letting you know the issue. Great mod regardless :D

Man, just when you think this project couldn't get any better than it already is... Looking forward to see what new people can bring into the mod, especially excited for the animation updates. That would go a long way to making Deus Ex feel far less clunky and outdated and more modern.

Oh my god, I am so hyped for those new running animations. That would help the game so much it's not even funny. Those stock animations were just hilarious, and having an animation overhaul would be an absolute godsend. I'm just gonna pause my playthrough and just wait for it to come out, because that would make the game look significantly less goofy.

Yeah I got that issue with the launcher fixed.

Where did you hear that from? Last I heard of HDTP in v8 wasn't that, but the previously broken MJ12 models that were broken are now fixed in GMDX v8. I really hope that isn't the case.

Yes of course, just seeing and confirming what would happen. It's a shame that I couldn't continue on, but understandable considering the new update adds new visuals etc to existing areas I have already been in.

Ah yeah, I have noticed some issues with the saves, The store in Hong Kong doesn't have anything to buy, and it appears that the levelling system doesn't have any perks, and swimming is still called swimming instead of athletics. Oh well, I'll start a new game and see if HDTP issues are fixed.

So I just installed GMDX V8 (upgraded from V7), and I remember that there was HDTP options in the options menu. Unless I'm completely blind, I can't find them. In V7, I did change JC's face to the glorious default one instead of the HDTP one, and that is still the case here. And yes, I am using an exsisting save (that had v7 on it before), but it is working fine, this is my only concern.

So is there a way to change HDTP models like with V7, or am what I seeing what you chose which HDTP models to keep? Thanks in advance, other than that the game seems to be working just fine despite being on an "old" save rather than a new game.

I would really love to see a patch for Revision for this especially since it came out. It has gamemodes for other mods like shifter and biomod and allows you to choose between them, I would love to see a gamemode for this mod in revision one day.

Of course, I 110% understand if you don't want to/can't and just too busy on working on the mod to be even thinking about making a patch or something for Revision, you've got this question in the past a lot.

But regardless of what you want to do, keep up the good work!

So i've encountered a problem... I recently updated to v20 and thus also upgraded to the latest version of this mod, but I had seen that I think it was 1.35d or something was working absolutely fine, now I've updated it, and everything works fine, from the display to the light switch and motion sensor to the AI voice and menu.... except there are no graphics for the HuD itself. All of the text is there in the right position and colours, but there isn't the actual doom visor graphics, as if its missing somehow.

The way I installed it is put UDV_v1.50_A_BASE_GZDoomOnly and UDV_v1.50_B_ADD_IN_Mod_BDv20 in the skins folder like usual, went to the zdoom folder and put my load order like this:
[Doom.Autoload]
Path=L:\DOOM\ brutalv20.pk3
Path=L:\DOOM\skins\ zdoom-dhtp-20140616.pk3
Path=L:\DOOM\Skins\ UDV_v1.50_A_BASE_GZDoomOnly.pk3
Path=L:\DOOM\Skins\ UDV_v1.50_B_ADD_IN_Mod_BDv20.pk3
(note that I only put space between the names because moddb doesn't allow more than 50 word letters)

I'm not sure exactly what I did wrong, as everything works fine except I'm missing the textures for the actual HuD itself. Here's a screenshot to show you what I mean: I.imgur.com

Awesome! This was one of the features I missed from shifter in comparison to GMDX. It is simply a much better design decision than having it waste away when you aren't using it, and then again there aren't many situations where you would use it anyway. This makes it much more viable.

Honestly, I am not a fan of this. I think it kinda ruins immersion even more so, as obviously it doesn't make any sense to pay money for save points. I hope we can have the option to turn it off.
